Networked Motorized Drive Roller Conveyor

A motorized drive roller conveyor includes an upstream zone and a downstream zone, with each zone having a drive roller, an idler roller that is driven by the drive roller, and a sensor. The upstream zone and the downstream zone are controlled by a card, which measures a gap between a first item on the conveyor and a second item on the conveyor by beginning a counter when a trailing edge of the first item passes the sensor of the upstream zone and stopping the counter when a leading edge of the second item passes the sensor of the upstream zone to generate a counter value. If the first item is stopped in the downstream zone, the card of the upstream zone causes the drive roller of the upstream zone to advance the second item into the downstream zone for a distance derived from the counter value before stopping the transportation of the second item.

Direct electric resistance liquid heater

The Direct Electric Resistance Liquid Heater comprises a liquid heating chamber containing a plurality of electrodes. The electrodes are spaced apart to create a plurality of channels through which the liquid to be heated passes. The electrodes are each connected to a power supply by one or more switches. A controller controls the switches based upon data received from a temperature sensor, sensing the temperature of the liquid, and / or an electric current sensor, sensing the current utilized by the liquid heater. Selection of the number and spacing of the electrodes, and the number of switches, provides the controller with various current levels options to apply to the liquid to be heated. The current levels available due to the number and spacing of the electrodes and the number of switches, span the range from minimum current to maximum current such that the controller can incrementally increase or decrease the current applied to the liquid to be heated without disrupting other users of the same power source.

Processing Request Management

A method for executing a plurality of processing requests performed by a physical computing system that is programmed to execute the processing requests for clients includes, with the physical computing system, assigning an identification number to a new processing request; with the physical computing system, placing the new processing request into a process eligible group if the identification number of the new processing request meets a criterion; and with the physical computing system, placing the processing request into a queued group if the identification number of the processing request does not meet the criterion.

Traffic control method and apparatus

A method called as a time-differential-ratio method and its apparatus used for intersection traffic control that differentially operates on the traffic so as to change pass-permit direction with traffic status in time is disclosed. The method includes the steps of starting, timing, vehicle-requesting, extra-moving, ratio-moving, and recycling. Unlike a common control method called as macro-estimate control method that forces changeable traffic to follow a given period and direction turn order to pass, which causes lots of stops and wait, a differential operations on the traffic are integrated with a common ratio control method and walker signals. It shows the operating features and the effective characteristic of both micro-time control and macro ratio control, which lets a vehicle arriving first pass first conditionally, is good for real-time arbitrary traffic pattern control, and leads to great reduction of stops and wait. The apparatus needed for the method includes sensing / detecting apparatuses and processing apparatus.

Bioprinter devices, systems and methods for printing soft gels for the treatment of musculoskeletal and skin disorders

Disclosed are devices, systems and methods that utilize bioprinters to form scaffold structures in situ to facilitate treatment of the musculoskeletal or skin disorders in patients. A method for treating a musculoskeletal disorder of a patient includes positioning a bioprinter at a situs of the musculoskeletal disorder, or a situs of a skin injury, in the patient. The method includes extruding a hydrogel formulation from the bioprinter into the situs. The method includes curing the hydrogel formulation in the situs. The hydrogel formulation has a composition effective to generate, upon the curing, a scaffold structure in the situs to facilitate muscle hypertrophy, or skin wound healing, in the situs.

Apparatus and Method for Efficient Handling of Mostly Read Data in a Computer Server

An apparatus and method is described for improving access to mostly read data on network servers. The preferred embodiments more efficiently utilize replicated data servers to minimize server response time for improved performance of data access to network servers by workload managing client requests across the primary server and all replicated servers when it is possible to do so. In preferred embodiments, a load balancer supplies the most current data for mostly read data transactions while maximizing server usage by workload managing client requests across the primary server and all replicated servers. Client requests are managed by a load balancer in the workload manager. Client requests are sent by the load balancer to replicated servers when a routing table (stale data marker list) indicates that the data is in a safe period. Clients are directed exclusively to the primary server only during data update times.

An interface transmitter coupled among a number of network elements of at least one network is provided, wherein a number of data frames of a first type are received from at least one processor and stored in at least one random access memory (RAM). Data is read from the RAM to at least one data serializer in response to a number of signals received from the processor and over at least one backplane network. A number of data frames of a second type corresponding to the data frames of a first type are generated and serially transferred among the network elements using the backplane network.

Apparatus and method for processing requests from an external queue in a TCP/IP-based application system

A TCP / IP-based application system includes an application module that performs predetermined functions based on external requests received from an external queue. The external queue is external to the application system and stores the external requests before the requests are fetched into the application system. A network interaction module is coupled to the application module and the external queue (1) to fetch the external requests from the external queue into the application system and (2) to determine which, if any, of the fetched requests will not be processed by the application module based on the processing capacity of the application module and the rate of the external requests arriving at the external queue such that when the application module is overloaded, TCP timeouts for requests stored in the external queue are minimized and the chance of those requests stored in the external queue from being dropped is also minimized.

Load-aware cloud-edge cooperative service deployment method

The invention discloses a load-aware cloud-edge collaborative service deployment method, which comprises the following steps that: S1, a priority variable is acquired according to the system parameters of a mobile edge computing system, and the mobile edge computing system comprises a plurality of edge nodes and a centralized cloud; and S2, the service is dynamically adjusted and deployed according to the priority variable. According to the method, service load distribution is taken as a main factor, nodes and service priorities are defined, and the priorities are dynamically adjusted according to deployed service conditions, so that the response time of a service request can be minimized, and the service quality is improved.
