Cryptography system and method for providing cryptographic services for a computer application

A cryptography system architecture provides cryptographic functionality to support an application requiring encryption. decryption, signing, and verification of electronic messages. The cryptography system has a cryptographic application program interface (CAPI) which interfaces with the application to receive requests for cryptographic functions. The cryptographic system further includes at least one cryptography service provider (CSP) that is independent from, but dynamically accessible by, the CAPI. The CSP provides the cryptographic functionality and manages the secret cryptographic keys. In particular, the CSP prevents exposure of the encryption keys in a non-encrypted form to the CAPI or application. The cryptographic system also has a private application program interface (PAPI) to provide direct access between the CSP and the user. The PAPI enables the user to confirm or reject certain requested cryptographic functions, such as digitally signing the messages or exportation of keys.

An apparatus for preventing occupant injury during accident has various features to ensure safety. A sensor 70, detecting seat belt engagement is provided. In addition, there is a means for varying the tension of a seatbelt 17, depending upon the weight of the occupant 110 and the speed of the vehicle carrying the occupant 110. When the occupant 110 seats on any of the seats 17, the load cell switch 18 will close, allowing the load cell output energy to energize the control module 25. The control module 25 will then enables the counter 50 to count the number of closed load cell switches 18. The control module 25 further enables an optoisolator switch configured with the sensor 70 to then energize a latching relay 80 operatively configured to check the seat belt latching of all occupied seats 10 with closed load cell switches 18, to assure occupants safety. The load cells are configured with strain gauges and temperature sensors to ensure human occupants. Such that, when the switch 18 for the occupied seat 10 is closed, the latching relay 80 circuit is energized so that the seat belt 17 for the occupied seat location is checked for buckling. The latching relay 80 circuit and the counter 50 circuit are operatively configured and closed only when an occupant 110 takes any of the seats 10. The latching relay switch 85 is only energized when the counter circuit 50 is closed.

Bullet deflection, fighting position body armor

Bullet Deflection, Fighting Position Body Armor incorporates a novel bullet defeat mechanism approach different than conventional armor's objective of stopping bullets. Many rifle bullets that are used for military assault rifles are designed to turn or tumble on contact allowing maximum energy to be imparted on the target in minimal penetration distance. Exploiting this bullet / rifle design, deflecting bullets becomes a new attractive solution rather than stopping bullets because significantly less weight required to deflect an "unstable" bullet. Fighting position body armor can be mounted on the user's arms, shoulders and helmet. These locations are not normally protected by conventional body armor thereby providing significant protection when the soldier is in firing / fighting positions. Designs can be made to integrate the Bullet Deflection, Fighting Position Body Armor areas of protection with conventional body armors to optimize weight and areas protected.

Glove with memory foam inserts

InactiveUS20090229035A1Highly versatile in useHigh degreeGlovesEngineeringTactile Perceptions
A glove that can be used as a conventional glove, or, alternatively, if the glove is to be used for special purposes, can be modified to include shaped articles comprising yieldably deformable, shaped-inserts of different configuration constructed from foamed cushion material having a memory. These shaped articles can be selectively inserted into strategically located, internal pockets formed internally and externally of the glove. When the shaped-inserts are in position within the pockets of the glove, they provide protection to the hand, provide superior tactile perception and also tend to substantially replicate the surface features exhibited by the device being gripped by the user.
