Custom-tinted paints and stains are made using an array of low VOC concentrated liquid colorants including at least at least white colorant; black colorant; and green-hued, blue-hued and red-hued primary colorants at least one of which primary colorants comprises polyalkylene glycol humectant, ethoxylated surfactant and extender pigment. For colorants in the array containing polyalkylene glycol humectant, the humectant and ethoxylated surfactant amounts are sufficiently high and extender pigment amount is sufficiently low so that the colorants will not problematically plug colorant dispenser orifices if left in the dispenser without an orifice cap for a full day. The polyalkylene glycol humectant is also present in an amount sufficiently low so that dried paint films made by mixing the colorants with a clear waterborne base paint will resist blocking.

The invention relates to a preparation of fluorine-containing water-based crackle paint and coating method thereof. The fluorine-containing water-based crackle paint is composed of water-based epoxy primer and water-based fluorine-containing finish paint. Paint, filler and auxiliary are added to a sand mill according to percentages by weight to be grinded to be less than or equal to 40 microns; epoxy resin is added for homogeneous mixing to constitute the water-based epoxy primer; paint, filler and auxiliary are added to water according to percentages by weight to be grinded to be less than or equal to 40 microns after stirring, and are then mixed with fluorine-containing resin emulsion to constitute the water-based fluorine-containing finish paint. The coating method is as follows: the water-based epoxy primer is brush-coated or spray-coated on a substrate, and the thickness of dry film of the water-based primer is controlled; after the surface of the dry film is dry, the water-based fluorine-containing finish paint is spray-coated on the epoxy primer. The invention provides water-based externally coated metal printing whitewash and a preparation method thereof. The whitewash comprises the following components in percentage by mass: 30-50% of water-based epoxy modified acrylic resin, 5-10% of amino resin, 40-60% of titanium dioxide slurry, 5-20% of dipropylene glycol methyl ether and 0.1-0.3% of an adhesion promoter, wherein the titanium dioxide slurry comprises 20-30% of water, 0.1-1.3% of a wetting dispersant and 0.2-0.3% of a defoamer as well as the balance of titanium dioxide. The whitewash provided by the invention is crosslinked and cured through the water-based epoxy modified acrylic resin and the amino resin with a certain amount of an assistant and white slurry to obtain the water-based externally coated metal printing whitewash which is good in adhesive force, strength and machinability. The production cost is lowered, and meanwhile, the water-based epoxy modified acrylic resin is low in content of volatile organic compounds, low in toxicity, less in atmospheric pollution and beneficial for environmental protection.
