Mobile and pervasive output server

Pervasive output capability is provided so that an information apparatus can pervasively output digital content to an output device regardless of the processing power, display screen size and memory space of the information apparatus. This allows small mobile devices with limited display, processing power, and memory to be able to output a digital document (e.g., PDF, HTML, PowerPoint etc) in its full original richness, without resorting to downsizing, truncating, reducing, clipping or otherwise altering the original document. Data output server software in computer readable medium may include software for receiving at a server a document object corresponding to output content managed with an information apparatus, and software for receiving at the server an output device object with one or more attributes corresponding to an output device for rendering the output content, the server being distinct from the information apparatus and the output device. There may also be software for generating output data employing at least partly the document object and the output device object, the output data relating to the output content for rendering at the output device, and software for transmitting the output data for rendering of the output content at the output device.

Devices and methods are provided for applying vacuum near to devices for delivering treatments to tissue adjacent a body cavity, effective to draw adjacent tissue near to such devices and to enhance treatment of the tissue. Body cavities include natural body cavities and cavities remaining after removal of tissue such as cancerous tissue. A device may include an inner balloon assembly with an inflation conduit. A sheath assembly having a fluid-permeable sheath wall may enclose the inner balloon assembly. Vacuum applied to the space between the sheath and the inner balloon is useful to draw tissue into contact with the device, improving treatment effectiveness. Methods for treating tissue with such devices and systems are also provided. Treatments may include providing radioactive material for radiation treatment, providing chemotherapeutic material for chemotherapy, providing thermal treatment, and combinations thereof. Systems may include devices of the invention and a vacuum source.

Asyncronous broadcast for ordered delivery between compute nodes in a parallel computing system where packet header space is limited

Disclosed is a mechanism on receiving processors in a parallel computing system for providing order to data packets received from a broadcast call and to distinguish data packets received at nodes from several incoming asynchronous broadcast messages where header space is limited. In the present invention, processors at lower leafs of a tree do not need to obtain a broadcast message by directly accessing the data in a root processor's buffer. Instead, each subsequent intermediate node's rank id information is squeezed into the software header of packet headers. In turn, the entire broadcast message is not transferred from the root processor to each processor in a communicator but instead is replicated on several intermediate nodes which then replicated the message to nodes in lower leafs. Hence, the intermediate compute nodes become “virtual root compute nodes” for the purpose of replicating the broadcast message to lower levels of a tree.

Middle or large-sized battery module

Disclosed herein is a middle- or large-sized battery module including two or more unit modules each having one or more plate-shaped battery cells, as unit cells, surrounded by a high-strength sheathing member made of synthetic resin or metal, and separable upper and lower frame members coupled with each other in an assembly-type coupling structure such that the unit modules are vertically mounted in the upper and lower frame members. The present invention has the effect of easily mounting a sensing unit that is capable of minimizing the weight and size of battery cells while effectively reinforcing the low mechanical strength of the battery cells and sensing the operation state of the battery cells to a middle- or large-sized battery module. In addition, the present invention has the effect of manufacturing the battery module by a simple assembly process without using a plurality of members for mechanical coupling and electrical connection, thereby decreasing the manufacturing costs of the battery module, and effectively preventing the battery module from being short-circuited or damaged during the manufacture or the operation of the battery module. Furthermore, the present invention has the effect of manufacturing a middle- or large-sized battery system having desired output and capacity using the battery module as a unit body.

Camera module and method of manufacturing the same

The present invention relates to a camera module, and more particularly, to a camera module which is miniaturized by changing the structure of a housing joined to a PCB on which a standardized image sensor is wire-bonded and a method of manufacturing the camera module. The camera module includes a PCB to which an image sensor is connected by a wire bonding section; and a housing that holds a lens section. The housing includes a joining section that is joined to the side where the wire bonding section of the PCB is not formed; and a step section that is formed to recede in a portion corresponding to the wire bonding section of the PCB.

System, method, and apparatus for visual authentication

A visual tag having a processor for calculating a response string corresponding to a challenge string, and a changeable screen to display the response string in machine-readable symbols. An authentication device reads the displayed symbols, and authenticates the displayed contents corresponding to the challenge string. The challenge string is generated either according to a random generator within the authentication device, or according to a real-time clock. A plurality of tags or objects can be authenticated and spotted within an image. The tag can also authenticate inputted messages and credentials.

Method and device for evaluating physical parameters of an underground deposit from rock cuttings sampled therein

Method and device for evaluating simultaneously, with the same equipment, physical parameters such as the absolute permeability and the porosity of fragments taken from a fragmented natural or artificial porous medium
The porosity of the fragments is measured by means of helium pressure tests according to a protocol known in the art. The chamber (1) containing the fragments is communicated with a tank (11) whose volume is also known and containing helium at a known pressure. At pressure balance, the value of the solid volume can be deduced. The rock envelope volume and the fragments mass are also measured. Combining these measurements allows to determine the porosity of the samples and the density of the rock. Their permeability is then measured by immersing them in a viscous fluid and by communicating the chamber with viscous fluid at a determined pressure contained in a vessel (9) so as to compress the gas trapped in the pores of the rock, according to two different protocols. The values of the physical parameters are determined by modelling the evolution of the pressure or of the volume in the chamber and by means of an iterative adjustment. Applications: petrophysical measurements from drilling cuttings or crushed cores for example.

Display apparatus and tiled display apparatus

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a display panel driver and a first connection wire. The display panel includes a substrate and a display layer disposed on a first surface of the substrate. The display panel driver applies a driving signal to the display panel. The display panel driver is disposed on a second surface opposite to the first surface of the substrate. The first connection wire is disposed at a first side surface connecting the first and second surfaces of the substrate. The first connection wire connects electrically the display panel with the display panel driver.
