Credit limit storage in an anonymous trading system

An anonymous trading system comprises a network of broker nodes each of which perform price matching, deal execution and market distribution. Trader terminals on trading floors are connected to a given broker node via a trading agent node. Credit may be stored for a given trading floor at its trading agent node or at a credit agent node which stores credit limits for a group of trading floors. Where the credit limits of a party to a proposed deal are stored at a credit agent node, the deal execution process is routed through that credit agent node to check for available credit. The system allows institutions to adopt any combination of local and global credit assignments with counterparties with which it wishes to trade.

System and method for applying security policies on multiple assembly caches

The invention relates to a system and method for providing multiple assembly caches for storing shared application resources. Each assembly cache may be associated with a different security policies, locations, internal structures and management. An application may be determined to have access to an assembly cache based on the permission and security policy of the application and security policy of the assembly cache. Additionally, one or more assembly caches may have other policies for cache retention, resolution, and creation.

Camera having a focus adjusting system and a face recognition function

A camera includes an image pickup device; a focus adjusting device which captures an object image at different positions while the focusing lens group is moved to detect an in-focus lens position, based on image signals of the object images, and the focusing lens group is moved to this in-focus lens position; and a face recognition device for recognizing a face image based on the image signals. When the face recognition device recognizes the face image, the focus adjusting device performs the focus search process toward the near extremity if the area size of the face image is smaller than a predetermined threshold value, and the focusing lens group moves toward the far extremity if the area size of the face image is equal to or greater than the predetermined threshold value.

Multifiber connector, installation tool and associated methods of validating optical fiber continuity

Methods are provided for validating the continuity of one or more optical fibers upon which a fiber optic connector is mounted. Typically, the fiber optic connector is mounted upon an optical field fiber by actuating a cam mechanism to secure the optical field fiber in position relative to an optical fiber stub. If subsequent testing indicates that the continuity of the optical field fiber and the optical fiber stub is unacceptable, the cam mechanism can be deactuated, the optical field fiber can be repositioned and the cam mechanism can be reactuated without having to remove and replace the fiber optic connector. In order to determine if continuity has been established between the optical field fibers and respective optical fiber stubs, a method is also provided that introduces light into at least one of each pair of optical field fibers and optical fiber stubs and that only secures the position of each optical field fiber relative to the respective optical fiber stub once the glow associated with each pair of optical field fibers and optical fiber stubs dissipates, which dissipation indicates the establishment of continuity. An improved multifiber connector and installation tool are also provided to facilitate the establishment and validation of the continuity of optical field fibers and optical fiber stubs in order to reduce the time and cost required to connectorize optical field fibers in the field.

Curing Dielectric Films Under A Reducing Atmosphere

The present invention provides a process for forming a porous dielectric film, the process comprising: forming onto at least a portion of a substrate a composite film comprising Si, C, O, H and Si—CH3 groups, wherein the composite film comprises at least one silicon-containing structure-forming material and at least one carbon-containing pore-forming material; and exposing the composite film to an activated chemical species to at least partially modify the carbon-containing pore-forming material, wherein at least 90% of Si—CH3 species in the as deposited film remains in the film after the exposing step as determined by FTIR.

Methods and apparatus for rapidly measuring pressure in earth formations

InactiveUS7152466B2Rapidly measuring pressureReduce penetrationSurveyPistonPiston cylinder
Methods and apparatus for rapidly measuring pressure in earth formations are disclosed. According to a first embodiment of the apparatus, a probe is provided with a movable piston having a sensor built into the piston. According to a second embodiment of the apparatus, the pressure sensor is mounted adjacent to or within the piston cylinder and a fluid pathway is provided from the sensor to the interior of the cylinder. Methods of operating the first and second embodiments include delivering the probe to a desired location in a borehole, setting the probe against the formation, and withdrawing the piston to draw down fluid for pressure sensing. A third embodiment of the probe is similar to the second but is provided with a spring loaded metal protector surrounding the cylinder and an annular rubber facing. The third embodiment is preferably used in a semi-continuous pressure measuring tool or an LWD tool having a piston controlled bowspring and a piston controlled articulated member carrying the probe. The tool is moved in a semi-set mode and when located at a desired depth is rapidly put in a fully-set mode.
