Noninvasive genetic immunization, expression products therefrom and uses thereof

Disclosed and claimed are methods of non-invasive genetic immunization in an animal and/or methods of inducing a systemic immune or therapeutic response in an animal, products therefrom and uses for the methods and products therefrom. The methods can include contacting skin of the animal with a vector in an amount effective to induce the systemic immune or therapeutic response in the animal. The vector can include and express an exogenous nucleic acid molecule encoding an epitope or gene product of interest. The systemic immune response can be to or from the epitope or gene product. The nucleic acid molecule can encode an epitope of interest and/or an antigen of interest and/or a nucleic acid molecule that stimulates and/or modulates an immunological response and/or stimulates and/or modulates expression, e.g., transcription and/or translation, such as transcription and/or translation of an endogenous and/or exogenous nucleic acid molecule; e.g., one or more of influenza hemagglutinin, influenza nuclear protein, tetanus toxin C-fragment, anthrax protective antigen, HIV gp 120, human carcinoembryonic antigen, and/or a therapeutic, an immunomodulatory gene, such as co-stimulatory gene and/or a cytokine gene. The immune response can be induced by the vector expressing the nucleic acid molecule in the animal's cells. The immune response can be against a pathogen or a neoplasm. A prophylactic vaccine or a therapeutic vaccine or an immunological composition can include the vector.

Digital camera device providing improved methodology for rapidly taking successive pictures

An in-camera two-stage compression implementation is described that reduces the latency between snapshots to a fraction of that otherwise required by other systems that either process complete compression following each snapshot or that incorporate heavy, bulky, and expensive RAM hardware capable of maintaining several raw luminosity records (unprocessed file containing a digital image). In the 1st stage compression the raw luminosity record is quickly, yet partially, compressed to available RAM buffer space to allow a user to expeditiously capture a succeeding image. When the higher-priority processes, the user shooting pictures, and stage one compression subside, a 2nd stage compression, which is slower but more effective, decompresses the earlier partially-compressed images, and re-compresses them for saving in flash memory until they are distributed to a remote platform to be finally converted to the JPEG2000 format.

Constraint solver to code based test data generation for improving software reliability and security

The present invention is directed to automatically analyzing software systems for identifying faults or bugs and / or detection of malicious code. In various embodiments, the present invention measures code coverage for high priority invocable program elements, uses a relaxed coverage estimation technique that, instead of guaranteeing which code units will be executed, guarantees that at least a certain number of code units will be executed, determines and solves constraints in code to identify infeasible paths containing one or more selected nodes, determines, for a composite data type, a range of values for each of at least two non-composite data fields, and / or translates, prior to code analysis complex code into simpler code having fewer operators.

DMA engine for protocol processing

InactiveUS20060206635A1Determinism and uniformity in operationPredictable performance gainElectric digital data processingData transmissionProtocol processing
A DMA engine, includes, in part, a DMA controller, an associative memory buffer, a request FIFO accepting data transfer requests from a programmable engine, such as a CPU, and a response FIFO that returns the completion status of the transfer requests to the CPU. Each request includes, in part, a target external memory address from which data is to be loaded or to which data is to be stored; a block size, specifying the amount of data to be transferred; and context information. The associative buffer holds data fetched from the external memory; and provides the data to the CPUs for processing. Loading into and storing from the associative buffer is done under the control of the DMA controller. When a request to fetch data from the external memory is processed, the DMA controller allocates a block within the associative buffer and loads the data into the allocated block.

Host-based virtualization optimizations in storage environments employing off-host storage virtualization

A system for host-based virtualization optimizations in storage environments employing off-host virtualization may include a host, one or more physical storage devices, and an off-host virtualizer such as a virtualizing switch. The off-host virtualizer may be configured to aggregate storage within the one or more physical storage devices into a virtual storage device such as a logical volume, and to provide control data for the virtual storage device to the host. The host may be configured to use the control data to perform a function in response to an I / O request from a storage consumer directed at the virtual storage device, and to use a result of the function to coordinate one or more I / O operations corresponding to the I / O request.

Systems and methods for data upload and download

Systems and methods which provide a hybrid network based solution for digital data file backup are shown. Embodiments utilize a transport mass storage system to provide transmission of digital data files between user equipment and a network based mass storage system. A manifest may be used to manage transporting and / or storage of digital data files. User equipment may then access the digital data files stored to the network mass storage system for various purposes using a network link. Subsequent, incremental backups and other transfers of relatively small amounts of digital data files are preferably accomplished using a network link for the transfer.
