Fluid level sensor for a container of a negative pressure wound treatment system

An apparatus is provided for collecting medical waste fluids. The apparatus includes: a medical waste collection container for collecting medical waste fluids; first and second electrically conductive sensing elements disposed inside the container so as to be exposed to fluid collected in the container, where the first and second sensing elements are located inside the container at a position corresponding to a full fluid level at which point the container is full of fluid; and an electronic circuit coupled to the sensing elements for generating a full alarm signal when the electronic circuit determines that current can flow between the first and second sensing elements as a result of fluid in the container reaching the full fluid level and thereby completing a current path between the first and second sensing elements.

Semiconductor circuit, method for driving the same, storage device, register circuit, display device, and electronic device

A semiconductor circuit capable of controlling and holding the threshold voltage of a transistor at an optimal level and a driving method thereof are disclosed. A storage device, a display device, or an electronic device including the semiconductor circuit is also provided. The semiconductor circuit comprises a diode and a first capacitor provided in a node to which a transistor to be controlled is connected through its back gate. This structure allows the application of desired voltage to the back gate so that the threshold voltage of the transistor is controlled at an optimal level and can be held for a long time. A second capacitor connected in parallel with the diode is optionally provided so that the voltage of the node can be changed temporarily.

Process and system for operating magnetron discharges

Magnetron discharges are pulse-operated to avoid the so-called "arcing". In the case of magnetron discharges from alternating current-fed magnetrons, the process is limited to the minor power of the energy supply because of the load-carrying capacity of the required electric components. When the magnetron discharges are fed by direct current, their effectiveness deteriorates because of the deposition of layers on the anode surfaces. The new process should enable a high supply power and prevent arcing. In magnetron discharges with at least two magnetron electrodes, the energy is supplied in such a way that at least one magnetron electrode is a cathode or anode and a number n1 of direct current pulses of said polarity is supplied. The poles of at least one magnetron electrode are then reversed and a number n2 of direct currents of this polarity are supplied. The process is carried on in this manner, the frequency of the direct current pulses being higher than that of the polarity reversals. The energy supply effectiveness is thus improved. This process and system enable the production of layers having the most different properties, for example for the glass, packaging, electronic, and machine construction industries.

Overcharge protection apparatus with minimized power consumption

Disclosed herein is an overcharge protection apparatus with minimized power consumption. An overcharge protection apparatus with minimized power consumption according to an embodiment includes a switching unit for controlling supply of voltage detected in a battery cell depending on an ignition-on or off state of a vehicle, and an overcharge prevention circuit for when the battery cell is overcharged based on the voltage of the battery cell output from the switching unit, turning off a main relay, thus interrupting supply of power to a battery module, so that the voltage of the battery cell is detected only in an ignition-on state of a vehicle and power consumption is Minimized, thus preventing the lifespan of a battery from being shortened by reducing a voltage difference between cells.

Light source control device and light source control method

A microcomputer of a light source control device specifies an LED belonging to LEDs and subjected to a short-circuit failure based on a result of determination by a short-circuit failure detecting circuit and current amounts sensed by current sensing circuits respectively. The microcomputer makes corresponding one of switching elements interrupt supply of a current to the specified LED. The microcomputer makes a constant current circuit supply an LED not specified with a current not exceeding a current responsive to the number of such LEDs not specified.

Gas appliance and control method thereof

A gas appliance includes a burner, a gas valve, an igniter, a thermocouple, and a control device. The control device is adapted to execute a control method comprising the following steps: controlling the igniter to ignite and controlling the gas valve to open; receiving a detected voltage output from the thermocouple; controlling the igniter to stop igniting and keeping the gas valve open when the detected voltage reaches a first voltage value; receiving the detected voltage output from the thermocouple continuously, and controlling the gas valve to close the gas pipe when the detected voltage above a second voltage falls below the second voltage. The second voltage value is higher than the first voltage value. As such, an ignition procedure may be speeded up and the supply of the fuel gas may be interrupted more quickly when the flame is extinguished.

Braking apparatus

A braking apparatus is provided for braking the rotating part of a hoisting machine. The braking apparatus includes one or more brakes, which contain altogether at least one movable brake shoe, spring elements for activating the brake by moving the brake shoe forward, at least two electromagnets, which, when magnetized by a magnetizing current, apply a force of attraction to bodies conducting magnetic flux. The electromagnets are fitted to release the brake by pulling the brake shoe backwards by resisting the spring elements. The brake is fitted to be activated by reducing the magnetizing current of the electromagnet. The braking apparatus includes a power supply circuit for the electromagnets, which contains controllable power supply interrupting devices. The electromagnets are connected to the power supply circuit in such a way that the supply of magnetizing current to each electromagnet can be interrupted by means of at least two different interrupting devices.
