3D independent double gate flash memory

A memory device configurable for independent double gate cells, storing multiple bits per cell includes multilayer stacks of conductive strips configured as word lines. Active pillars are disposed between pairs of first and second stacks, each active pillar comprising a vertical channel structure, a charge storage layer and an insulating layer. The insulating layer in a frustum of an active pillar contacts a first arcuate edge of a first conductive strip in a layer of the first stack and a second arcuate edge of a second conductive strip in a same layer of the second stack. A plurality of insulating columns serve, with the active pillars, to divide the stacks of word lines into even and odd lines contacting opposing even and odd sides of each active pillar. The active pillar can be generally elliptical with a major axis parallel with the first and second conductive strips.

Grouping mesh clusters

Systems and methods for grouping mesh networks. Mesh networks enable energy data to be transferred from an energy sensing device to a destination device using various networks and reduces the need to install metering stations. Embodiments of the invention join or group mesh networks that otherwise are not able to communicate. The connections between the grouped mesh networks can be passive using directional antennas or passive antennas or active using higher power RF devices, solar repeaters, mobile mesh devices, etc. The energy data is routed in a smart manner, by performing load balancing at gateways, by monitoring the signal to noise ratio of available communication paths, etc. Mesh clusters can also be created to define low power clusters, address blocking clusters, and frequency based clusters. Grouping clusters facilitates the efficient transfer of energy data from an energy sensing device to a energy management station.

Enabling Faster Full-Text Searching Using a Structured Data Store

A traditional structured data store is leveraged to provide the benefits of an unstructured full-text search system. A fixed number of “extended” columns is added to the traditional structured data store to form an “enhanced structured data store” (ESDS). The extended columns are independent of any regular columnar interpretation of the data and enable the data that they store to be searched using standard full-text query syntax / techniques that can be executed faster (as opposed to SQL syntax). In other words, the added columns act as a search index. A token is stored in an appropriate extended column based on that token's hash value. The hash value is determined using a hashing scheme, which operates based on the value of the token, rather than the meaning of the token. This enables subsequent searches to be expressed as full-text queries without degrading the ensuing search to a brute force scan.

System and methods for accelerated data storage and retrieval

Systems and methods for providing accelerated data storage and retrieval utilizing lossless data compression and decompression. A data storage accelerator includes one or a plurality of high speed data compression encoders that are configured to simultaneously or sequentially losslessly compress data at a rate equivalent to or faster than the transmission rate of an input data stream. The compressed data is subsequently stored in a target memory or other storage device whose input data storage bandwidth is lower than the original input data stream bandwidth. Similarly, a data retrieval accelerator includes one or a plurality of high speed data decompression decoders that are configured to simultaneously or sequentially losslessly decompress data at a rate equivalent to or faster than the input data stream from the target memory or storage device. The decompressed data is then output at rate data that is greater than the output rate from the target memory or data storage device. The data storage and retrieval accelerator method and system may employed: in a disk storage adapter to reduce the time required to store and retrieve data from computer to disk; in conjunction with random access memory to reduce the time required to store and retrieve data from random access memory; in a display controller to reduce the time required to send display data to the display controller or processor; and/or in an input/output controller to reduce the time required to store, retrieve, or transmit data.

Methods in a pseudo random and command driven bit compensation for the cycling effects in flash memory

ActiveUS20080065813A1Reduce and eliminate specific data patternReducing NAND string resistance effectRead-only memoriesDigital storageEEPROMRandom coding
Easily implemented randomization within a flash memory EEPROM reduces the NAND string resistance effect, program disturbs, user read disturbs, and floating gate to floating gate coupling that result from repeated and long term storage of specific data patterns. The randomization may be code generated pseudo randomization or user driven randomization in different embodiments. User driven commands, the timing of which cannot be predicted may be used to trigger and achieve a high level of randomization. Randomly altering the encoding scheme of the data prevents repeated and long term storage of specific data patterns. Even if a user wishes to store the same information for long periods, or to repeatedly store it, it will be randomly encoded with different encoding schemes, and the data pattern will therefore be varied.

Laser driver with noise reduction feedback for optical storage applications

In order to provide a low noise laser beam, a noise reducing feedback network is provided which creates a noise reducing signal and provides that signal to the laser itself. In order to produce the noise reducing signal, the operation of the laser is monitored and the feedback signal is a direct result of this monitoring. Monitoring is accomplished by a fast-forward sense detector, which receives a portion of the laser beam from the operating laser. The output from this fast-forward sense detector is provided to an amplifier which inverts and amplifies the signal. A noise reduction feedback network then receives the amplified signal, appropriately filters this signal, and provides it to the laser itself so as to reduce noise in the laser-beam for the frequency band of importance for reading the recorded data from the optical medium. The noise reduction feedback signal further has sufficiently high impedance so as to not disturb the traditional CW operation of the laser and to avoid interference with the traditional RF modulation of the laser.

Method to access data in an electronic apparatus

An access method includes providing a secure element which stores at least a user key for decrypting one of the encrypted partitions; establishing a temporary secure channel between the secure element and the electronic apparatus; and authenticating in the electronic apparatus a user which is associated to one of the encrypted partitions. The method also includes transmitting an identification of the user authenticated and transmitting the user key from the secure element to the electronic apparatus over the temporary secure channel. The electronic apparatus is programmed to decrypt the encrypted partition and the encrypted partition of the authenticated user is not accessible to the authenticated user or to any other authenticated users in the electronic apparatus, if the user key of the authenticated user is not transmitted to the electronic apparatus.

Data-aware dynamic supply random access memory

A Random Access Memory (RAM) with a plurality of cells is provided. In an embodiment, the cells of a same column are coupled to a same pair of bit-lines and are associated to a same power controller. Each cell has two inverters; the power controller has two power-switches. For the cells of the same column, the two power-switches respectively perform independent supply voltage controls for the two inverters in each cell according to data-in voltages of the bit-lines during Write operation.

High-sensitivity pH value biosensor chip

The invention discloses a high-sensitivity pH value biosensor chip, which can realize low-cost and rapid food safety detection. At the same time, the sensor chip is conducive to the integration of large-scale sensing arrays, which can be used for fast, low-cost, high-throughput gene sequencing. The chip includes a row / column decoder, a large sensing unit array, a sub-threshold region pH-time domain-voltage conversion reading circuit group, a 10-bit analog-to-digital conversion circuit group, a static random register reading circuit group, etc. The chip can detect the change of pH value in the solution and convert it into a voltage signal, and finally convert the voltage into a digital signal through the on-chip analog-to-digital conversion circuit, and send it to the computer for data reception, storage and analysis. The reading amplification circuit of the present invention can effectively improve the sensitivity of the sensor, and the minimum resolution reaches 0.01pH, which can solve the compatibility problem between the chip and the standard complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) process and the problem of low sensitivity in the process of process miniaturization .
