Small array microphone for acoustic echo cancellation and noise suppression

Techniques for canceling echo and suppressing noise using an array microphone and signal processing. In one system, at least two microphones form an array microphone and provide at least two microphone input signals. Each input signal may be processed by an echo canceller unit to provide a corresponding intermediate signal having some echo removed. An echo cancellation control unit receives the intermediate signals and derives a first gain used for echo cancellation. A noise suppression control unit provides at least one control signal used for noise suppression based on background noise detected in the intermediate signals. An echo cancellation and noise suppression unit derives a second gain based on the control signal(s), cancels echo in a designated intermediate signal based on the first gain, and suppresses noise in this intermediate signal based on the second gain. The signal processing may be performed in the frequency domain.

Distributed coexistence system for interference mitigation in a single chip radio or multi-radio communication device

A novel and useful apparatus for and method of distributed coexistence for mitigating interference in a single chip radio and / or a multi-radio (i.e. multi-transceiver) communications device. The invention enables coexistence ‘friendly’ radio IPs having frequency agility in that they are capable of shifting their clock frequencies thereby avoiding frequency bands of potential victim radios. Frequency agility on the aggressor radio side (rather than by mitigating the effect of interference on the victim radio side) prevents harmonics from the aggressor's clock scheme from falling in the operating frequency band of the victim radio, and in turn causing degradation to its performance. Each aggressor radio, based on information received from other radios, configures the root clock frequency of its RX and / or TX chain clock generation circuits.

Methods and apparatus for utilizing radio frequency spectrum simultaneously and concurrently in the presence of co-channel and/or adjacent channel television signals by adjusting transmitter power or receiver sensitivity

To address the scarcity of radio frequency (RF) spectrum, the disclosed systems offer unique ways to mitigate interference between television broadcasters (including their direct audience and viewers served via cable television) and other concurrent users of the RF spectrum, e.g. for one-way or two-way wireless communication. A preferred embodiment makes use of the “framing” characteristics of the “letterbox” video display format. RF emissions of the simultaneous RF spectrum user are keyed “on” only or substantially only during the time intervals when the blanking intervals and / or letterbox-border video lines are being scanned on the display, i.e. when the potentially affected (interfered with) television display is in the letterbox-frame-scanning portions of each video field. The concurrent uses may support services for voice (including telephony, music etc.), data (including Internet, intranet, etc.); image or control; fixed, portable, mobile or nomadic; narrowband, broadband or ultra-wideband; radiodetermination, diathermy, etc. Additionally, the concurrent user's emitted power and receiver sensitivity is continuously adjusted according to the broadcast television signal.

Radio-frequency interference processing method, storage medium and terminal

The invention discloses a radio-frequency interference processing method, a storage medium and a terminal. The radio-frequency interference processing method comprises the following steps: obtaining radio frequency information obtained when the terminal communicates, wherein the radio frequency information comprises a current channel and signal intensity of the current channel; when judging that the current channel is an interference channel of MIPI (mobile industry processor interface) main frequency in an interference channel information record table, judging whether the difference value between the signal intensity of the current channel and interference degree corresponding to the interference channel is smaller than a threshold value; and when the difference value between the signal intensity of the current channel and the interference degree corresponding to the interference channel is smaller than the threshold value, adjusting working frequency of the MIPI into MIPI backup frequency. When the MIPI main frequency has interference on the radio-frequency signal, the MIPI work frequency is switched to the MIPI backup frequency, thereby reducing interference of the MIPI main frequency on the radio-frequency signal, and improving conversation quality.

Protocol for exchanging control data to mitigate interference problems in wireless networking

Described is a protocol by which wireless network communication devices comprising peer nodes (such as a computer system and an access point) cooperatively exchange information about RF interference detected in the network. The protocol administers the exchange of formatted control data corresponding to the detected interference among computing nodes running a service capable of processing the control data. A peer table is used to maintain locally-obtained and remotely-obtained control data. Records in the peer table are arranged with different levels of granularity with respect to interference and networking information. The interference information collected through the cooperative protocol may then be used by peer devices in the network to adapt to mitigate interference-related problems. The protocol also provides for discovery of peer node capabilities, including a negotiable transport for the control data that may be different from the main data channel transport.

Discrete spurious leakage cancellation for use in a cable modem

A novel apparatus for and method of discrete spurious frequency leakage cancellation for use in a cable modem. The spurious leakage cancellation mechanism is particularly suitable for use in cable modem systems adapted to implement the DOCSIS 2.0 specification which specifies both downstream and upstream channels. In one embodiment, the spurious emission cancellation mechanism cancels the spurious emissions by first creating a replica of the aggressor clock signal having the same amplitude but 180 degree phase shift as the spurious signal. The phase shifted spurious replica is added to the original spurious signal thus cancelling the spurious signal. In another embodiment, an RF switch is used to couple the upstream path signal to the CATV cable only during transmission bursts. In between transmission bursts, the upstream signal is disconnected from the CATV cable. This embodiment takes advantage of the less stringent spurious requirements in the DOCSIS 2.0 specification for transmission bursts. In between transmission bursts, when stricter spurious requirements apply, the upstream signal is disconnected from the CATV cable.
