1076 results about "System image" patented technology

In computing, a system image is a serialized copy of the entire state of a computer system stored in some non-volatile form such as a file. A system is said to be capable of using system images if it can be shut down and later restored to exactly the same state. In such cases, system images can be used for backup.

System, apparatus and method for automatically tracking a table game

A system automatically monitors playing of a game and gathers data in real time. An overhead imaging system automatically images the game table and provides an overhead view of the game table and / or the dealer's chip tray. A lateral imaging system images the gaming area, especially the wagering regions, to provide a lateral view of the chips on the table. An automatic card shoe system dispenses cards and automatically images at least one card immediately prior to its withdrawal from the shoe. A positioning module processes images from the overhead imaging system to automatically track the position of gaming objects such as for example playing cards, chips, currency bills on the gaming table. An identity module processes images from the overhead imaging system to automatically track the identity of gaming objects on the gaming table. A chip identity module processes overhead images of the chip tray and lateral images of the gaming region to automatically determine, the identity and position of gaming chips. A card-shoe software associated with the automatic card shoe system processes signals from the automatic card shoe system to automatically identify the game related value of at least one card immediately prior to its withdrawal from the shoe by a dealer.

System and method for integrated on-demand delivery of operating system and applications

The present invention discloses a system and a method for integrated on-demand delivery of operating system and applications, where operating system images are separate and distinct from application images. Integration of operating system streaming and application streaming services makes streaming delivery possible to a wide range of client devices, including those without any local disk space such as thin-clients and diskless workstations. In addition, by integrating the centralized management of operating system delivery and application delivery, the present invention provides a complete solution to server-centric application management, thereby further reducing the total cost of ownership of network-based computing approach. Implementing the operating management functions at the client machine level of specificity and application management functions at the user level of specificity combined with providing separate and distinct operating system images and application images provides an inherently canonical architecture that allows proper scaling and affords appropriate security management functions. The result is a complete, scalable, robust, and reliable server-centric application and operating system management system with a lower total cost of ownership than existing products.

Pet robot charging system

Image data obtained by image-capturing by a pet robot is stored in a memory, and any of conditions whether the memory capacity is scarce, a captured image transfer instruction is made, or the battery capacity of the pet robot is scarce is satisfied, the pet robot is controlled to move to the charging apparatus. When the pet robot arrives at the charging apparatus, the image data is transferred to the charging apparatus. When the completion of transfer of the image data is detected, the image data already transferred is erased depending upon selection by the user.

Distributed digital rule processor for single system image on a clustered network and method

A distributed digital rule processor to create a single system image (SSI) on a cluster of von Neumann processors. The rule processing engine has a group of digital rule nets each having their own local bindery and local controllers which are interconnected by a global bindery. Slave translators are interfaced to the global bindery to receive rule calls from the rule nets and return statuses. A compiler maps the typical source code instructions into groups of rules which are stored in the rule nets' storage area. The rules contain groups of input variables and output variables. The output variables of a calling rule become the input and data for the called rule. Slave application processes on the von Neumann processors perform slave activities for the slave translators, as the rule nets are unable to manipulate data. Rules received from the rule nets by slave translators are processed and processed data or return statuses are sent back to the nets for further instructions. The rule nets contain the code compiled by the programmer and the application data is stored in the global buffers. This separates the code from data. The digital rules include node, processor, and thread addressing variables to permit extending the model to handle multiple nodes in a Wide Area Network, Local Area Network, System Area Network, or cluster.

Object recognizing apparatus for vehicle and the method thereof

A stereoscopic optical system images a stereoscopic picture image, a stereoscopic image processing section calculates a three-dimensional distance distribution from the stereoscopic picture image, and an object recognizing section recognizes objects from the distance distribution information to calculate a relative position of the objects with respect to the vehicle. On the other hand, a travelling amount of the vehicle is detected by a steering sensor and a rear wheel rotation sensor. Then, an object positional information calculating section calcuLates a new relative position of the objects based on the relative position information memorized in a memory section and the calculated travelling amount of the vehicle and the memory section memorizes the new positional information. And, a bumping judgment outputting section judges the possibility of bumping against the objects based on the new relative position of the objects with reference to memorized information about the external shape of the vehicle. If it is judged therein that there is a possibility of bumping, the bumping judgment outputting section outputs a warning signal to an indicating section.

System executing a fast boot wake-up

A processing system is set forth that includes a processor, read only memory storing an operating system image file accessible by the processor, and random access memory that is also accessible by the processor. The processing system also includes a boot program that is executable by the processor to initialize the processing system in response, for example, to a power-on event, reset event, or a wake-up event. A power-on event occurs when power is initially provided to the processing system while a wake-up event occurs when the processing system is to exit a low-power mode of operation. A reset event occurs when, for example, a fault is detected that causes the system to restart. The boot program selectively performs a full boot copy of the operating system image file from the read only memory to the random access memory or a fast boot copy of only predetermined portions of the operating system image file from the read only memory to the random access memory. For example, the boot program may execute the full boot copy operation in response to the power-on event and the fast boot copy operation in response to the wake-up event and / or reset event. Further, the boot program may limit execution of the fast boot copy operation to those instances in which the random access memory passes an integrity check of the contents of one or more areas containing selected portions of the operating system copied from the read only memory during a prior full boot copy operation.
