Providencia rettgeri (commonly P. rettgeri), is a Gram negative bacterium that is commonly found in both water and land environments. P. rettgeri is in the genus Providencia, along with Providencia stuartii, Providencia alcalifaciens, and Providencia rustigianii. P. rettgeri can be incubated at 37 °C in nutrient agar or nutrient broth. It was first discovered in 1904 after a waterfowl epidemic. Strains of the species have also been isolated from nematodes of the genus Heterorhabditis.

The invention discloses application of chelerythrine in inhibition and clearing of a multi-drug-resistant Providencia rettgeri biofilm. According to the application, the technical problem that the drug resistance of a drug-resistant Providencia rettgeri biofilm is difficult to clear once formed is solved. The invention discloses a method for degrading antibiotics in biogas slurry by the aid of ultraviolet irradiation processes. The method includes adding Providencia rettgeri solution into the biogas slurry and preliminarily degrading the antibiotics; adding persulfate and ferrous sulfate, forming advanced oxidation systems and then starting ultraviolet irradiation; carrying out oxidation / light degradation and continuing to degrade the antibiotics in the biogas slurry; adding dithiothreitol solution and recycling the advanced oxidation systems; carrying out secondary oxidation / light degradationand degrading the antibiotics.
