A system and method for automatically, programmatically generating media item recommendations on a graphical user interface (GUI) based on a friend media item recommendation selected by a user. In the preferred embodiment, a selected media item recommendation is displayed in the GUI. Received friend media item recommendations are displayed in a list in relevance order adjacent to the selected media item. A programmatically-generated media item recommendation list is automatically generated based on relevance to the selected media item and displayed in another adjacent area to the selected media item recommendation. In this manner, a user can easily play the selected media item recommendation, and then browse the friend media item recommendations and the automatically updated programmatically-generated media item recommendations, which are both provided in their own respective adjacent areas, in order of closest relationship to the selected media item recommendation, at anytime.

Method for providing a user interface for controlling an appliance in a network of distributed stations, as well as a network appliance for carrying out the method

The invention relates to the field of domestic network technology. The control of an appliance in the network via a central appliance for the network and having a display unit is normally simplified with the aid of user interfaces. When an audio-video datastream has to be transmitted between two network appliances, then this takes place via data links that are set up. There is then a close relationship between the connected appliances, and this requires frequent switching between the user interfaces of the two appliances. For example, when the user interface for a CD player is displayed, this user interface must first of all be closed and a user interface for an amplifier in the network must be started, usually by selection from the list of all the appliances in the network, in order then to set the volume for the amplifier. The aim of the invention is to simplify the control of such appliances which are coupled to one another via a data link that has been set up. This is achieved by providing a field in the user interface for an appliance to be controlled, in which field a list of those appliances which maintain a connection that has been set up is displayed, and the user interface of that appliance is displayed with it. This results in a preselection from the list of all of the appliances in the network, allowing the desired user interface to be selected more quickly.

Vehicle license plate recognition method based on deep neural network

The vehicle license plate recognition technology is a specific application of the text mode recognition technology in the field of transportation. A problem of unstable all-weather recognition rate still exists in an existing vehicle license plate recognition system in domestic at present. Acquisition of vehicle images is affected by variations in ambient light, and stains, color fading, inclination and movement of vehicle license plates also result in image blurring and distortion, so that a vehicle license plate positioning algorithm and a vehicle license plate recognition algorithm are difficult to be implemented under such conditions. The accuracy is improved by applying the deep neural network to image recognition, and manual characteristic extraction is avoided. A convolutional neural network model is a system structure of the deep neural network, and has a close relationship with image processing. According to the invention, a convolutional neural network is applied to vehicle license plate recognition and enabled to have a high recognition rate for abnormal characters such as broken characters, inclined characters and the like. It is indicated by experiments that the algorithm has a strong ability for distinguishing similar characters and has high robustness.

Spring steel high overpressure vent structure

Rectangular or circular vent apparatus for protecting a confined space having a vent aperture for relief of an overpressure condition is provided with each including vent structure having a vent unit adapted to be positioned over the vent aperture in normal closing relationship thereto. Each vent unit preferably includes at least one spring steel panel provided with a movable pressure relief portion having an initial position extending across the vent aperture. A backstop is provided for arresting the degree of movement of the spring steel panel, that absorbs kinetic energy of opening of the spring steel panel, and that assures return of the relief portion of the spring steel panel in substantially its original shape to a selected opening position when a predetermined overpressure is applied against the relief portion of the vent unit. A line of weakness comprising a series of end-to-end slits defines the movable pressure relief portion of each spring steel panel. A synthetic resin sheet covers the slits of each line of weakness. Alternatively, the vent unit may have spring steel leaves positioned against a metal sheet provided with a relief portion and normally positioned in closing relationship to the vent aperture. The spring steel panel and the spring steel leaves have a sufficient modulus of resilience and elasticity to cause the relief portion of the spring steel panel or the metal sheet to return to their respective initial positions from the open positions thereof upon relief of the overpressure condition in the confined space.

According to the method, a plurality of targeted domain dictionaries are quickly constructed as needed, the multi-dimensional comprehensive emotion analysis of the specific object is realized, the visual angle is more comprehensive and the result is more accurate.

The extraction system comprises a data import module, a factor extraction module, an input module and an evaluation module. By the aid of the extraction method and the system, the range of correlation factors of the carbon flux in the researched ecosystem can be effectively reduced, research efficiency is improved, and inherent law among the environmental factors is found.
