Hybrid electric drive and control method therefor

A fuel management control method for a hybrid electric vehicle drive having an internal combustion engine and an electric motor arranged in parallel such that both can propel the vehicle; the system including an electric motor driven fuel pump and a programmable microprocessor; and wherein the method further includes monitoring vehicle speed and sensing braking pressure and directing signals of both vehicle speed and braking to the microprocessor and processing such inputs in accordance with an aggressive fuel management program including shut-off of fuel flow to the gas engine in response to vehicle braking at vehicle speeds above a predetermined maximum hysteresis speed and maintaining the fuel shut off during vehicle coasting above a predetermined speed while controlling the electric motor to provide regenerative braking or vehicle start during such fuel shut off modes of operation.

Door lock assembly and locking system for hinged double-acting impact-traffic doors

A lock assembly and locking systems adapted for use with hinged bidirectional hardened plastic doors is provided. The lock assembly comprises a moveable bolt arranged within a housing and a having a first perimeter; a strikeplate spaced apart from the housing and having a hole with a second perimeter; and an actuator adapted to move the bolt form an unlocked position where the bolt is within the housing to a locked position where a portion of the bolt extends into the hole, wherein the second perimeter is 2-10 times greater than the first perimeter such that the hinged double-acting impact-traffic door has an amount of play when the bolt is in the locked position.

Quick release assembly

A pivoting side mount (26) which may used, for example, to attach a pelvic stabilization device (21) to a wheelchair. The pivoting side mount (26) includes first and second pivot brackets (152, 150) that are rotatably connected to one another and a spring (154), such as a rubber spring, for limiting the rotating movement of the two brackets relative to one another. A quick release assembly (28) is also provided. The quick release assembly (28) includes a receiver (30) and a body (40) that fits into the receiver. The body (40) includes one or more latches (42) that are biased outward and that snap into notches (44) in the receiver (30) when the body (40) is placed in the receiver (30). A release plate (46) is provided for releasing the latch or latches (42) from the notches (44).
