Irrigation solution and method for inhibition of pain, inflammation, spasm and restenosis

A method and solution for perioperatively inhibiting a variety of pain, inflammation, spasm and restenosis processes resulting from cardiovascular or general surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. The solution preferably includes multiple pain and inflammation inhibitory agents, including at least one local anesthetic agent, and spasm inhibitory agents at dilute concentration in a physiologic carrier, such as saline or lactated Ringer's solution. Specific preferred embodiments of the solution of the present invention for use in cardiovascular and general vascular procedures also include anti-restenosis agents.

Switchable imaging polarimeter and method

A polarimeter and method of polarizing incoming light includes an optical assembly, a first adjustable circular retarder that rotates the polarization content of incoming light, a polarization beam splitter that receives light from the adjustable circular retarder and polarizing the light into a first portion of light having a first polarization and a second portion of light having a second polarization. The first portion of light is directed to a focal plane and the second portion of light is directed to the optical assembly. The optical assembly is switchable between a polarizing mode of operation in which the first portion of light is viewable at the focal plane in absence of the second portion of light and an imaging mode of operation in which the first portion of light and the second portion of light are viewable at the focal plane.

Program Test System

An improved automated software testing system provides the ability to generate and reuse test cases over multiple platforms. Keywords and natural language are used in test case creation, simplifying the process for non-technical business users. Business users can write test cases without scripts. Test cases can be generated even before the application to be tested is available. Data substitution provides ability for test cases to adapt to changing data. Abstraction allows use of all third-party and custom software test tools to be incorporated. Persistent data handling allows capture of data generated during test execution for later use. Testing can be performed entirely automatically or can incorporate some manual interaction. Test results, screen captures of the system tested, along with environment and machine variables are saved in results logs for later review.

Stabilized solvent system for cleaning and drying

This invention relates to improved stabilizing compositions for n-propyl bromide. More particularly, the cleaning composition includes about 0.1 to 5% Butylene oxide, about 0.1 to 5.0% t-butanol, about 0.1 to 5% acetonitrile, about 0.1 to 5% nitromethane; and the remainder n-propyl bromide. These mixtures are useful as cleaning solvents for the electronic, aerospace, and general manufacturing industries, especially in the area of vapor degreasing.

A magnetic coupling device for communicating continuous rotational or linear motion through a magnetic coupling of magnetic forces communicated from magnets operatively positioned on an oscillation assembly and a rotation assembly in positions sufficiently proximate to form the magnetic coupling. Employed to communicate an output force in a rotational direction from an input linear force communicated from a powered oscillation assembly, the magnetic force of the magnet communicating the force compresses the volume of ellipsoidal-like magnetic fields of the coupling alternately in unlike polar domains, to induce a smooth, blended polar continuity and communicate a continuous 360 degree rotational force to a rotation assembly operatively engaged with the magnetic coupling. The input force may be reversed to induce a continuous linear motion of a reciprocating assembly.

Multifocal imaging systems and method

In the systems and methods of the present invention a multifocal multiphoton imaging system has a signal to noise ratio (SNR) that is reduced by over an order of magnitude at imaging depth equal to twice the mean free path scattering length of the specimen. An MMM system based on an area detector such as a multianode photomultiplier tube (MAPMT) that is optimized for high-speed tissue imaging. The specimen is raster-scanned with an array of excitation light beams. The emission photons from the array of excitation foci are collected simultaneously by a MAPMT and the signals from each anode are detected using high sensitivity, low noise single photon counting circuits. An image is formed by the temporal encoding of the integrated signal with a raster scanning pattern. A deconvolution procedure taking account of the spatial distribution and the raster temporal encoding of collected photons can be used to improve decay coefficient. We demonstrate MAPMT-based MMM can provide significantly better contrast than CCD-based existing systems.
