Dynamic Core Pool Management

Embodiments that dynamically manage core pools are disclosed. Various embodiments involve measuring the amount of a computational load on a computing device. One way of measuring the load may consist of executing a number of instructions, in a unit of time, with numerous cores of the computing device. These embodiments may compare the number of instructions executed with specific thresholds. Depending on whether the number of instructions is higher or lower than the thresholds, the computing devices may respond by activating and deactivating cores of the computing devices. By limiting execution of instructions of the computing device to a smaller number of cores and switching one or more cores to a lower power state, the devices may conserve power.

Vehicle operating condition determining system, driving assist system, and operating condition determining method

A vehicle operating condition determining system determines, when a turning angle of wheels or a steering angle of a steering wheel changes, that the turning angle of the wheels or the steering angle of the steering wheel changes due to a driver's intention, under a condition that the magnitude of steering torque applied to a steering device is kept equal to or larger than a threshold value after the torque reaches a peak, for a period of time equal to or longer than a reference time.

Electronic Apparatus, Content Reproduction Method, Record Medium, and Server Apparatus

An electronic apparatus is disclosed. A reproduction section allows first video content containing a plurality of types of data and first identification information to be reproduced. A transmission section transmits the first identification information to a server apparatus. A reception section receives a first application and first access control information from the server apparatus, the first application being associated with the first video content and being retrieved by the server apparatus based on the transmitted first identification information, the first access control information being generated by the server apparatus based on the first identification information and representing a condition in which the first application accesses the individual types of the data contained in the first video content. A control section executes the received first application based on the received first access control information when the first video content is reproduced.

Liquid crystal display and method of driving liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display selectively operates in one of a full screen display mode, in which the full screen of the display panel is set as a display area, and a partial display mode, in which a partial area in the full screen is set as a display area and a remaining area is set as a non-display area. The liquid crystal display includes a plurality of gate lines, a plurality of source lines, a plurality of storage capacitor lines that are provided to correspond to the plurality of gate lines, a plurality of pixels that are provided at intersections between the plurality of gate lines and the plurality of source lines, a polarity signal generation circuit that generates a polarity signal corresponding to a frame inversion signal to be repeatedly alternately inverted between a first level and a second level different from the first level for each frame in the display area, and generates a polarity signal corresponding to a fixed signal fixed at one of the first level and the second level in the non-display area, a storage capacitor line driving circuit that changes the potentials of the storage capacitor lines depending on the polarity signal generated by the polarity signal generation circuit, and a control circuit that changes the display area at a timing according to the frame inversion signal.
