Aspheric lenses

The present invention provides monofocal ophthalmic lenses that exhibit extended depth of field while providing sufficient contrast for resolution of an image over a selected range of defocus distances. In some embodiments, a lens of the invention can include a refractive surface having controlled surface modulations relative to a base profile. The surface modulations are designed to extend a depth of field of the lens such that a single image can be resolved, albeit with somewhat less contrast, over a range of distances greater than the focal region of a conventional lens. The ophthalmic lenses of the invention can be employed in various vision correction applications, including, but not limited to, intraocular lenses, contact lenses, instrastromal implants and other refractive devices.

Multiscale Optical System

A means of enabling an imaging lens system that overcomes some of the costs and disadvantages of the prior art is disclosed. A lens system in accordance with the present invention reduces or eliminates one or more aberrations of an optical input by separating image collection functionality from image processing functionality. As a result, each function can be performed without compromising the other function. An embodiment of the present invention comprises a collection optic that provides a first optical field, based on light from a scene, to a processing optic that comprises a plurality of lenslets. The processing optic tiles the first optical field into a plurality of second optical fields. Each lenslet receives a different one of the plurality of second optical fields, reduces at least one localized aberration in its received second optical field, and provides the corrected optical field to a different one of plurality of photodetectors whose collective output is used to form a spatially correlated sub-image of that corrected optical field. The sub-images are readily combined into a spatially correlated image of the scene.

Right-angled reflection type three-dimensional laser scanner and method for realizing three-dimensional imaging by using same

The invention provides a right-angled reflection type three-dimensional laser scanner and a method for realizing three-dimensional imaging by using the same. Coordinates of spatial points are acquired by using laser distance measurement and laser beam control data. Because the laser range is far, high depth of field can be acquired, and a shot object with large depth range can be scanned. For the shot object which can be born by a rotary table, the multi-side scanning can be realized, the multi-side surface textures of the shot object are acquired by shooting repeatedly through a camera, and a three-dimensional image of the shot object can be acquired through post treatment of the textures. For the object which cannot be born by the rotary table, multiple sides of the shot object can be shot by a plurality of times. Under the premise of ensuring larger scanning range, the whole device does not produce mechanical motion during working, the laser beam can be controlled only by two compact shafts, and the laser beam is not easily interfered by the outside; the 360-degree three-dimensional imaging of the outer lateral surface of the shot object is realized by adopting an auxiliary mode; and the three-dimensional imaging of a single lateral surface is realized by adopting an independent mode.
