Further application of natural bamboos in a building structure is prevented due to theproblems that the natural bamboos are naturally uneven and are easy to crack in a circumferential direction and difficult to standardize, and the like. The novel composite rod comprises a GFRP (GlassFiber Reinforced Polymer) pipe, a bamboo pipe arranged in the GFRP pipe and a concrete layer which is filled between the GFRP pipe and the bamboo pipe, wherein the bamboo pipe is the natural hollow bamboo pipe; one or multiple bamboo pipes are arranged in the GFRP pipe; the bamboo pipe is in equal height with the GFRP pipe or is shorter than the GFRP pipe. The bamboo pipe is used as an inner pipeof hollow sandwich GFRP pipe concrete and is coated in concrete, and the problems that the bamboo pipe is naturally uneven and is easy to crack in the circumferential direction can be avoided, so thatthe natural bamboo pipe can be reasonably utilized, and the cost can be effectively reduced on the premise that enough strength of the combined rod is ensured; the concrete is filled between the bamboo pipe and the outer GFRP pipe, stressed cracking of the bamboo pipe can be avoided, and inward local unstability of the GFRP pipe is avoided.
