Systems, processes and computer-accessible medium for providing hybrid flourescence and optical coherence tomography imaging

ActiveUS20090192358A1Facilitate accurate co-registrationImprove quantitativeSurgeryMaterial analysis by optical meansTomographyBiological structure
Apparatus and method can be provided for obtaining information regarding at least one portion of a biological structure. For example, using a first arrangement, it is possible to generate a first electro-magnetic radiation to be forwarded to the portion and receive, from the portion, a second fluorescent radiation associated with the first electro-magnetic radiation Further, using a second arrangement, it is possible to obtain information associated with the second fluorescent radiation, and generate at least one image of the portion as a function of the second fluorescent radiation. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the first arrangement can be inserted into at least one lumen, and the image of the portion may be associated with the at least one lumen.

This disclosure provides methods for the creation of a quantitative database of metabolites, particularly lipid metabolites, using chromatographic technology; methods for assembling that information into a visual format for interpretation, and methods of this information to identify and understand metabolome-wide effects, for instance those effects influenced by pharmaceuticals, genes, toxins, diet or the environment. Also provided are metabolite databases, such as lipid metabolite databases, that are stored on a computer readable medium, which include quantitative measurements of a plurality of metabolites.

Mechanism for Osteosynthesis

A mechanism for osteosynthesis 1 is provided that is capable of finely adjusting the amount of movement of a fractured bone, quantifying the amount of the movement and can be used both in pulling the fractured bones apart from each other and pulling the fractured bones nearer toward each other. A first mechanism for osteosynthesis 1 of the present invention comprises a plate part 2 for reducing two or more fractured bones monolithically by fixing at least both ends of the plate part 2 on the fractured bones and a sliding part 25 for moving one fractured bone along a sliding elongate hole 3 formed in the plate part 2 so as to elongate from the one fractured bone toward another fractured bone, the sliding part 25 comprising a rack 31 formed on an inner surface of the sliding elongate hole so as to extend along a sliding direction and a pin inserted in the sliding elongate hole 3, the pin 4 having a head portion 41 having a pinion for engaging with the rack 31 and a base portion 45 to be inserted into the one fractured bone, wherein the sliding part 25 moves the one fractured bone slidably along the sliding elongate hole 3 by rotating the pin 4.

Chromatographic and mass spectral date analysis

Apparatus, methods, and computer readable media having computer code for calibrating chromatograms to achieve chromatographic peak shape correction, noise filtering, peak detection, retention time determination, baseline correction, and peak area integration. A method for processing a chromatogram, comprises obtaining at least one actual chromatographic peak shape function from one of an internal standard, an external standard, or an analyte represented in the chromatogram; performing chromatographic peak detection using known peak shape functions with regression analysis; reporting regression coefficients from the regression analysis as one of peak area and peak location; and constructing a calibration curve to relate peak area to known concentrations in the chromatogram. A method for constructing an extracted ion chromatogram, comprises calibrating a low resolution mass spectrometer for both mass and peak shape in profile mode; performing mass spectral peak analysis and reporting both mass locations and integrated peak areas; specifying a mass defect window of interest; summing up all detected peaks with mass defects falling within the specified mass defect window to derive summed intensities; and plotting the summed intensities against time to generate a mass defect filtered chromatogram.

System, program product, and methods for attenuation correction of emission data on PET/CT and SPECT/CT

Embodiments of the present invention provide the use of average CT (ACT) to match the temporal resolution of CT and PET to enhance PET imaging and evaluated tumor quantification with HCT and ACT. For example, an embodiment of a method of enhanced PET imaging on a PET / CT scanner includes generating an average CT scan responsive to 4D CT emission image data to thereby correct attenuation in PET emission image data. Another embodiment of a method of attenuation correction in a PET / CT scan includes averaging a plurality of consecutive low dose CT images of approximately one breathing cycle to thereby obtain an average CT.

An amplifier and a driver circuit therefor are presented for driving a load according to a system analog input. The amplifier comprises a passive delta-sigma modulator with a passive filter providing a first filtered signal according to a passive filter input and according to a feedback signal, a quantizer coupled with the passive filter and providing a quantized output according to the first filtered signal, and a switching system coupled with the the passive filter and the quantizer. The switching system selectively providing power to a load according to the quantized output and provides the feedback signal to the passive input, wherein a gain amplifier is provided in a feedback loop around the passive delta-sigma modulator.
