The invention relates to a
surface roughness measuring
system and method based on a successive two-angle method. The front ends of the middles of two rear connecting rods are connected with a middle wheel through a middle shaft, and the rear ends of the middles of the two rear connecting rods are connected with a rear wheel through a connecting rod shaft; both sides of the middle shaft are respectively connected with a front connecting rod, and the front ends of the two front connecting rods are connected with two front wheels through a connecting rod shaft; a distance
encoder is mounted at one end of the connecting rod of the rear wheel, an angle
encoder is fixed at the one end of one of the front connecting rods, a
gyroscope sensor is mounted on the two rear connecting rods, and the distance
encoder, the angle encoder and the
gyroscope sensor are connected with a
portable computer through a
data acquisition card. The distance encoder is used measuring pulse in an advancing direction; the angle encoder is used for measuring changes of the included angles of the connecting rods; the
gyroscope sensor is used for measuring the inclination angle during the measuring process and inputting measured signals into the computer through the
data acquisition card to compute collected data through the principles of the successive two-angle method, to obtain the cross-section diagram of a
road surface to be measured and the standard deviation of the roughness of the
road surface, and to convert the standard deviation of the roughness of the
road surface into international roughness index (IRI).
