Compositions and methods for improving the quality of processed sperm

The present invention relates to compositions and methods for the handling of processed sperm including samples that are freshly collected, those transported as fresh samples, samples that are frozen and thawed, those sorted into one or more subpopulations, and those that are otherwise processed or handled that impose trauma on the cell. Trauma can reduce the motility, fertility, viability and overall integrity of the sperm and reduce the ability to fertilize, produce an embryo and a healthy offspring. The present invention relates to novel compounds that can be added to the sperm cell sample to reduce the traumatic effects of physical stress during mild as well as extensive sperm cell processing, methods of using the compounds in standard sperm processing procedures, the end products made from these methods including sperm and embryos, as well as methods of using those end products in assisted reproductive biology techniques in animals.

Reproductive technology of low dose semen production and in vitro / in vitro fertilization in domestic animals

Artificial insemination of female animals and in vitro fertilization of oocytes with fresh or frozen-thawed semen have been applied to the reproduction of animals. According to the traditional theory and conventional procedures, a great number of sperm cells are needed to ensure a successful fertilization.

Method for Producing Nuclear-Transplanted Egg

It is intended to provide a method for improving a development rate in a somatic nuclear transplantation technique or an artificial insemination technique using a spermatid. The method is a method for producing a nuclear-transplanted egg comprising the steps of transplanting a nucleus of a donor cell into an egg, and treating the nuclear-transplanted egg with an anti-methylating agent.

Methods for Improving Fertility and Selectivity For Desired Offspring Sex in Artificial Insemination

A method for providing semen optimized for use in artificial insemination is described. Methods involve monitoring sperm cell metabolism by assays that produce results in real time, while sperm are still being processed into doses for use in insemination. Processing is modified in response to assay results, to optimize sperm performance.

Application of CLRN3 protein as cell surface identification protein for separating X sperms

The invention discloses an application of CLRN3 protein as cell surface identification protein for separating X sperms. The CLRN3 protein is in specific expression on the surface of the mammal X spermoblast, and an amino acid sequence of the CLRN3 protein is as shown in sequence 2 in a sequence table. The method for separating the X sperms provided by the invention is not only simple and easy to do, and the whole separation process is free from using dye and radiation, the pressure on the spermoblast is small, and the harmful influence on the sperm is relatively small. Through the method provided by the invention, the heavy demand on the sexed sperm in the production can be satisfied. The application disclosed by the invention has important application value.

Method for recognizing mixed semen stains from two individuals

The invention belongs to the technical field of forensic medicine, and particularly relates to a method for recognizing mixed semen stains from two individuals. According to the method, the individuals are separated and recognized by ABH antigen corresponding to ABO blood types of the individuals on spermoblast surfaces. The method particularly includes the steps: 1 preparing the mixed semen stains of the two individuals with ABH antigenic diversity; 2 performing immunohistochemical staining by the aid of labeled A, B and H antibodies, and collecting spermoblast of different ABH blood types bya cell capture technology; 3 performing PCR (polymerase chain reaction) amplification and capillary electrophoresis to perform genetic typing on STR (short tandem repeat) loci. According to the method for recognizing the mixed semen stains from the two individuals, individual origins of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) in the mixed semen stains of a plurality of individuals can be effectively determined according to gene level, the step of identifying histologic origins of body fluids or spots on criminal investigation scenes is greatly simplified, and accurate scientific evidence can be providedfor defining case quality, determining criminal suspects, performing conviction and sentencing and the like.
