The present invention discloses a method for removing the hydrogen sulfide from the gas containing the hydrogen sulfide and for recycling the sulfur element with the catalytic oxidation effect, and discloses a device thereof. A catalytic oxidation system consisting of iron ion and ethylenediamine tetracetic acid is used, so that the hydrogen sulfide is transformed to the sulfur element so as to be removed from the air stream containing the hydrogen sulfide; the hydrogen sulfide removing rate reaches 99.9 percent.
