The invention discloses an automatic-defrosting type solar water heater used in a region with low sunlight intensity. The automatic-defrosting type solar water heater comprises a heat concentration pipe, a water tank, a water outlet pipe and a power supply, wherein an electric heating wire is spirally wound on the outer circumference of the water outlet pipe outside a water outlet of the water tank, wherein the electric heating wire is connected with a storage battery; a temperature sensor for controlling the electric heating wire to work is also arranged on the water outlet pipe; and a heat insulation layer covers outside the electric heating wire. After the automatic-defrosting type solar water heater is adopted, when the weather temperature is lower than zero DEG C, the temperature sensor is switched on to form a loop, the electric heating wire works; and when the temperature rises to 4 DEG C, the temperature sensor is disconnected from the loop, the electric heating wire stops working, and therefore the solar water heater can also work normally even in frost weather at southwest regions in China without blocking phenomenon caused by frosting. The automatic-defrosting type solar water heater disclosed by the invention has the advantages of simple structure, low cost, easiness in installation and working stability and reliability.
