Magnetic head slider and magnet disk apparatus

In a slider using thermal expansion type, being adjustable on a flying height thereof, having problems to be solved, i.e., to reduce the electric power consumption, and to lesson the heat load upon a reproducing element thereof, wherein a heating device 4 is located separating from tip portions of the recording and reproducing elements 2 and 3. Also, for deforming only the vicinity of the heating device 4 and the recording and reproducing elements 2 and 3, so as to protrude from, the heating device 4 and the recording and reproducing elements 2 and 3 are surrounded by a resin film 6 of small rigidity, thereby increasing an amount of protrusion of the recording and reproducing elements 2 and 3 per a unit of electric power, but without increasing temperature of the reproducing element 3, with an aim of the structure of cutting off the force from materials of circumferences against the deformation.

System and method for bonding and debonding a workpiece to a manufacturing fixture

A system and a method by which workpieces are bonded to and debond from a manufacturing fixture using a radiation responsive adhesive as a bonding agent. The system includes curing the adhesive agent during loading within seconds, and structurally weakens the adhesive bond during unloading within seconds. During the workpiece loading cycle, an adhesive dispenser deposits radiation responsive adhesive on to a load bearing, light transmittive surface, known as gripper pins. The workpiece is subsequently pushed against the locators, and towards the gripper pins causing the adhesive to interpose between workpiece and gripper pins, curing radiant energy is transmitted through the gripper pins and on to the adhesive to cure adhesive and bond the workpiece to the fixture. Therefore, the bond is structurally weakened or debonded in order to remove the workpiece from the fixture after manufacturing.

Flat packing suitcase system

An improved design for a rolling suitcase having a retractable handle assembly is disclosed. The design includes a multi-piece molded shell having opposing side and end walls and a bottom wall, which together form a packing area. The telescoping tubes of the handle are located outside the packing area to maximize the packing area, and also to provide a flat bottom surface to minimize wrinkling of packed articles. The wheel skids are moved to the outer corners of the suitcase to minimize intrusion into the packing area. The tubes are made from fiber reinforced polymer for enhanced strength, and are concealed from view by a covering envelope. The handle assembly and wheel skids attach to the shell in a manner that enhances the structural strength and rigidity of the suitcase. Wear points on the handle assembly are provided with removable wear members made from abrasion-resistant material.

Pneumatic tire having directional tread pattern

At a portion of an inclined main groove from a tread center to an auxiliary groove of a pneumatic tire, an angle of inclination theta1 of a groove wall surface at a block step-in end side is set to be smaller than an angle of inclination theta2 of a groove wall surface at a block kick-out end side. Therefore, rigidity of step-in ends of blocks defined by inclined main grooves is lowered such that a striking sound can be reduced. Further, at a portion of the inclined main groove from the auxiliary groove to a tread end, an angle of inclination theta1 of a groove wall surface at a block step-in end side is set to be greater than an angle of inclination theta2 of a groove wall surface at a block kick-out end side. Therefore, rigidity of kick-out end sides of blocks defined by the inclined main grooves is lowered. Heel-and-toe wear which occurs at the kick-out end sides is suppressed, and an increase in pattern noise caused by heel-and-toe wear is suppressed.

Firearm handguard securement system and related method

A handguard securement system and related method are provided. The system can include a barrel nut that secures a barrel to a receiver and forces a handguard against the receiver. The barrel nut can include one or more annular grooves. When the handguard is initially installed loosely adjacent the receiver, over the barrel nut, the grooves are misaligned with corresponding handguard fastener holes, such that portions of the barrel nut obstruct a portion of the holes. When the fasteners are advanced in the holes, and into further registration with the corresponding grooves, this results in a rearward force exerted by the fasteners on the perimeters of the holes to thereby drive with that force the handguard into forced engagement with the receiver. Any gap between the handguard and the receiver can subsequently be eliminated, with the handguard forcibly pushed against the receiver with the force generated by the fasteners.
