The invention discloses a method for simultaneously measuring
polarization coupling distribution of an
optical fiber ring and beat length of a surrounding
optical fiber. An optical coherence domain polarization
detector based on a
white light interference principle is adopted for measurement, and the method comprises the steps of: measuring the length of an
optical fiber ring through a meter counter when the optical
fiber ring is wound, and after the optical
fiber ring is wound, connecting
tail fibers at the two ends of the optical
fiber ring with
tail fibers at the two ends of the optical coherence domain polarization
detector; testing
polarization coupling distribution of the optical
fiber ring by adopting the optical coherence domain polarization
detector; identifying two connecting points of the optical
fiber ring and the optical coherence domain polarization detector from the
polarization coupling distribution diagram, and testing and calculating the corresponding
optical path difference of the two
tail fiber connecting points of the optical
fiber ring during the
optical path scanning test; calculating the beat length of the optical fiber according to the
optical path difference, the looped optical fiber length recorded during looping and the test
wavelength; obtaining the polarization
coupling distribution of the optical fiber ring and the beat length of the surrounding optical fiber at the same time through one test. The test calculation method is simple, the test process is simplified, the
equipment requirement is reduced, and the
test efficiency is improved.
