Frequency-shaped noise-based adaptation of secondary path adaptive response in noise-canceling personal audio devices

A personal audio device includes an adaptive noise canceling (ANC) circuit that adaptively generates an anti-noise signal from a reference microphone signal and injects the anti-noise signal into the speaker or other transducer output to cause cancellation of ambient audio sounds. An error microphone is also provided proximate the speaker to provide an error signal indicative of the effectiveness of the noise cancellation. A secondary path estimating adaptive filter is used to estimate the electro-acoustical path from the noise canceling circuit through the transducer so that source audio can be removed from the error signal. Noise is injected so that the adaptation of the secondary path estimating adaptive filter can be maintained, irrespective of the presence and amplitude of the source audio. The noise is shaped by a noise shaping filter that has a response controlled in conformity with at least one parameter of the secondary path response.

Noise reduction circuit for CCD output signal

A noise reduction circuit with high noise reduction effect and low power consumption for a high resolution charge coupled device (CCD) as well as for a usual resolution CCD is provided. A delay circuit delays an CCD output signal, and a pulse generator outputs a pulse signal having the same period that the CCD output signal has. A part of period during which the pulse signal is at a high level overlaps with a signal-level period oh the CCD output signal. A first non-additive mixing (NAM) circuit selects and output a lower level signal between the CCD output signal and the pulse signal. A second NAM circuit selects and outputs a lower level signal between the output signal from the delay circuit and the pulse signal. A difference circuit calculates difference between an output signal of the first NAM circuit and an output signal of the second NAM circuit. A delay time of the delay circuit is set so that a feedthrough-level period of an output signal of the delay circuit overlaps with a signal-level period of the CCD output signal.

The vibrator 14 has a plurality of driving vibration arms 16A, 16B, 16C and 16D, a plurality of detection vibration arms 20, films D1, D2, D3 and D4 for adjusting a weight provided on the driving vibration arms, respectively, and detecting means 8 and 9 provided on the detection vibration arms, respectively. A driving vibration is excited in the vibrator 14, and output signals are output from the detecting means based on a detection vibration excited in the vibrator responsive to the physical quantity. The weight of each of the films is adjusted based on a comparison of the output signals P1 and P2 from the detection vibration arms.

Method and apparatus for the acoustic improvement of the pulsed current method for controlling the velocity of a transducer head

A method and apparatus for reducing the acoustic output of a computer disk drive during a load or unload operation are provided. According to the invention, a pulse train having pulse widths that vary from one pulse to the next is provided to a voice coil motor while the transducer head is being loaded to or unloaded from the surface of the disk. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a proportional term equal to the inverse of the pulse width is supplied to the controller such that, with all other inputs to the controller being equal, a pulse train having pulses of equal total power are produced. By providing pulses of varying widths, the acoustic output of the disk drive is spread among multiple frequencies, and the amplitude at any one frequency is diminished as compared to a pulse train having pulses of equal width.

The invention belongs to the field of environment monitoring, and provides a gas monitoring instrument and system. The gas monitoring instrument comprises a base, a front gas chamber and a main gas chamber are arranged on the base, a buffer plate is arranged between the front gas chamber and the main gas chamber, through holes are distributed in the buffer plate, the head end of the front gas chamber is provided with a funnel-shaped gas inlet, the tail end of the main gas chamber is provided with a gas outlet, a guiding gutter is arranged between the gas outlet and the buffer plate, and the main gas chamber is provided with a gas sensor. Joule-Thomson effect is utilized to cool the gas, thus the water in gas can be conveniently removed without any drying agent, and the phenomenon that water is condensed on the surface of the gas sensor is avoided. Moreover, the front gas chamber is arranged before the main gas chamber so as to provide a buffer, which can absorb the gas flow impact brought by the air pump and reduce the noise of the sensor. The gas sensor can be directly soaked in the gas to be detected, the contact route is the shortest, and the responding speed of the monitoring instrument is greatly improved.

Common mode noise cancellation circuit for unbalanced signals

This invention provides a common mode noise cancellation circuit for the unbalanced signals. The unbalanced signals come from a signal source with a first signal terminal and a second signal terminal having a first grounding potential. The common mode noise cancellation circuit comprises a grounding terminal and a subtractor. The grounding terminal with a second grounding potential is electrically coupled to the second signal terminal of the signal source through an impedance unit. The subtractor comprises a first receiving terminal, a second receiving terminal and a signal output terminal. The first receiving terminal and the second receiving terminal are electrically coupled to the first signal terminal and the second signal terminal respectively for receiving the unbalanced signals. The subtractor subtracts the noise coming from the first receiving terminal and the noise coming from the second receiving terminal to reduce the output noise of the signal output terminal.

An input signal processing circuit receives an input signal from a signal source that drives the CDG. An output signal processing circuit receives the output signal from the CDG and generates M segments of N digital samples of the CDG output signal and averages the corresponding samples in the M segments to generate a signal segment of N averaged samples. Each of the N averaged samples is multiplied by a corresponding one of the N normalized samples to generate N products. The N products are averaged to generate an average product, which is multiplied by a constant to generate a system output signal with reduced noise.
