Non-Volatile Memory and Method Having Efficient On-Chip Block-Copying with Controlled Error Rate

A non-volatile memory chip having SLC blocks acting as a write cache for MLC blocks for high density storage requires constant copying or folding of SLC blocks into MLC blocks. To avoid the time-consuming toggling out and in of the pages of the entire SLC block for ECC checking by a controller chip, only a small sample is checked. An optimal read point for reading the memory cells in the sample of the SLC block is dynamically determined by trying different read points so that the data is read within an error budget. Once the optimal read point is determined, it is used to read the entire SLC block without further error checking. Then the SLC block can be copied (blind folded) to the MLC block with the confidence of being within the error budget.

The invention refers to a centrifugal separator and a method of separating a product to a heavy phase and light phase. A centrifuge rotor encloses a closed separation space, which has a radially outer part for the heavy phase, a radially inner part for the light phase and a central gas-filled space. The radially outer part is separated from the radially inner part by a interface layer level. An inlet extends into the separation space for feeding the product. A first outlet extend from the radially outer part for discharge of the heavy phase. A second outlet extends from the radially inner part for discharge of the light phase. A control equipment permits control of the interface layer level to a desired radial position. A sensor senses a parameter related to the gas pressure in the central space. The control equipment controls the counter pressure in the first outlet in response to the sensed parameter for controlling the interface layer level to the desired radial position.

System and method for segmentation of mr flow data using fluid dynamics and tracking

Methods for vessel segmentation and tracking using 7D MRI flow image data incorporate information from the velocity field and the magnitude. A vessel tracking methods selects a time containing sufficient blood flow through a vessel, uses the magnitude image to determine the vessel boundary and uses the velocity image to define the vessel direction. A method for segmenting tubular and circular objects segments the objects into separate vessels and then uses the velocity data to reunite the objects, where touching components are evaluated by the velocity field where they are connected. If vectors point towards the other component, the two components are reconnected. An advection-diffusion method based on fluid dynamics performs a fluid dynamics simulation with image forces according to the Navier-Stokes equations. With the 7D data, the vector field is available from the flow data, from the time point at which maximal flow occurs in the vessel of interest.
