ActiveUS20090299857A1Improvement of moving object safetyImprove cost effectivenessTransmissionMarketingDisplay deviceStationary object
A system for obtaining revenue through the display of advertising on fixed or moving objects id disclosed. Such objects receive, store, poll and extract data to present content based on the time of day, locations, and relative movements in a specific environment, where data and information stored in moving or mobile objects within that environment can be transmitted between those objects or to stationary objects, where it is then used to enable and control such displays for which the owners of those objects are then compensated. The system enables the display of hyper-relevant ad content with synchronized remote audio, personal messaging and public service alerts on surrounding objects and provides for the real-time logging and later downloading of data to confirm communications and content deliveries between objects, track and measure consumer engagement, verify consumer's direct responses to ad viewings with accountability systems.

Medical device interface system and method

A medical device programmer graphical user interface, wherein the graphical user interface provides a programmer user with a method of automatically adjusting parameters to be programmed to a medical device in direct response to a user modifying related parameters that are to be programmed to the medical device. The programming interface implements the method in response to the programmer user's use of slide controllers on the programmer display screen to adjust parameters. In response to the on screen parameter changes implemented by the user via slide controller movement, the programmer automatically adjusts related parameters on the display screen by moving slide controllers for related parameters. This automatic adjustment by the programmer graphically illustrates to the user the automatic adjustments being made to the related parameters. The automatic adjustment also graphically illustrates the relationship between parameters being adjusted by the programmer user and the related parameters that are automatically adjusted by the programmer. In response to on screen parameter changes, the system graphically illustrates the parameter values that are changed and those that are programmed to the medical device and those that would cause unsafe condition in the medical device if programmed. The method also prevents the programming to the medical device the parameters that would cause an unsafe condition.

Network-based intercom system and method for simulating a hardware based dedicated intercom system

A network-based intercom system and method comprises software and the necessary portions of a computer network on which it is implemented. The software includes a dispatcher module to be installed on any of the computers of the network, and an intercom module to be installed on each of the participating computers in the system. The system has the advantage that it can be installed on non-dedicated computers, thus avoiding costly and inconvenient wiring and hardware installation. The system provides automatic message receipt without unnecessarily interrupting a recipient. This is achieved by signaling that a message has been sent by an assigned audible tone that is unique to the addressee. Thus, the recipient becomes aware that he or she has automatically received a message. The message is displayed in a banner on the addressee's computer monitor for selective viewing based on an order of priority. A recipient can respond directly to a message by interfacing with a visual display associated with the message.

Conflict fast consensus

A conflict tolerant message delay reducing consensus algorithm is presented for operating a distributed computing system. The devices of the distributed computing system can directly receive client requests, and can execute the requests and respond directly to the clients, saving message delays. If there is a conflict, the ultimately selected request can be the request submitted by the client with the highest client identifier. A device can change its vote, and execute a different request, if it is made by a client having a more dominant client identifier. All but one of the clients can also be a device implementing the system. A device that has executed a requested function may no longer submit a request in the same step. Consequently, a request is executed by the system when all devices have executed the request. If one or more devices fails, any fault tolerant consensus algorithm can be used.

Electromagnetic MWD telemetry system incorporating a current sensing transformer

An electromagnetic telemetry system for transmitting data from a downhole assembly, which is operationally attached to a drill string, to a telemetry receiver system. The data are typically responses of one or more sensors disposed within the downhole assembly. A downhole transmitter induces a signal current within the drill string. The signal current is modulated to represent the transmitted data. Induced signal current is measured directly with the telemetry receiver system. The telemetry receiver system includes a transformer that surrounds the path of the current, and an electromagnetic current receiver. The transformer preferably comprises a toroid that responds directly to the induced signal current. Output from the transformer is input to an electromagnetic current receiver located remote from the downhole assembly and typically at the surface of the earth. Alternately, voltage resulting from the induced signal current can be measured with a rig voltage receiver and combined with the direct current measurements to enhance signal to noise ratio.

Method for driving infrared multi-point touch screen

The invention discloses a method for driving an infrared multi-point touch screen. A touch panel has a double-layer structure; vertically orthogonal infrared paired tubes are distributed on the periphery of a lower touch panel layer; slantly intersectant infrared paired tubes are distributed on the periphery of an upper touch panel layer; the infrared paired tubes on the periphery of the lower touch panel layer are divided into multiple groups and are driven at the same time and detect luminous flux of a receiving tube at the same time; after the infrared touch screen is started, the infrared paired tubes on the lower touch panel layer are driven first; if there is only one touch point, a direct response is made to the touch screen and scanning is ended; and if more than one touch point is detected, according to inclination angles of the inclined infrared paired tubes on the touch panel layer, positions of the inclined infrared paired tubes are computed, the infrared paired tubes are selectively driven, fake touch points are eliminated and multi-point touch is realized. By the method for driving the infrared multi-point touch screen, the scanning time of the infrared tubes is effectively shortened and the responding speed of the touch screen is improved.
