Method for high throughput transgene function analysis for agronomic traits in maize

A method for the rapid evaluation of transgene function in maize plants. The method combines high throughput gene construction methods and high efficiency plant transformation techniques in a specifically developed germplasm. In one as aspect, the method uses quantitative, non-destructive imaging technology applied in a portion or throughout the entire life cycle of a test plant to evaluate agronomic traits of interest in a controlled, statistically relevant greenhouse environment. The method reports transgene function early in the transgenic variety development process, eliminating the need to generate seed necessary for multi-location replicated field trials.

Method for Making Phase Change Aggregates From a Microencapsulated Phase Change Material Liquid Emulsion

The present invention provides a method of producing manufactured aggregates from a mPCM slurry, by combining a cementitious binder with the slurry in an agglomeration process. Also, other materials may be introduced (e.g., CaO). The agglomerated feed mix then goes through a curing and classification process to meet the size criteria of the end product. The invention also provides a method of manufacturing PCM aggregates that are substantially fire retardant by mixing the PCM particles with magnesium hydroxide or aluminum hydroxide. Water may be added to assure uniform distribution of particles with the hydroxide particles. Alternatively, the hydroxides may be obtained in situ by mixing magnesium oxide or aluminum oxide with water prior to mixing with the PCM particles.

A closing element assembly is provided for closing hooking elements within a knitting machine. The assembly has a plurality of closing elements with each closing element having a butt end and a working end. The butt end defines at least one indention along the length of the butt end. At least one plate is provided for receipt in the indention. The plate defines closing element channels therein for receipt of a portion of the butt ends of the plurality of closing elements. The plate secures the plurality of closing elements in proper position for cooperating with a plurality of hooking elements of compound needles within a knitting process.

Substrate materials for transparent injection-molded parts

A substrate material, preferably polycarbonate, suitable for producing transparent injection-molded coated disks is disclosed. The material is characterized in that a substrate molded therefrom has an electrical field (measured within 5 minutes of its molding and at a distance of 100 mm from the surface) of −30 to 0 kV / m.

Method for fabricating a PCB

A method for forming a metal layer on a substrate begins by providing a resin film on the substrate. An organic photo conductor layer having charged and uncharged segments is adhered to the resin film. Metal powder is deposited onto the charged segments of the organic photo conductor layer after which it is heated to form the metal layer.

Electrical service conduit system and method of use

A system and method to route electrical service conduits through the interior of a building and also to comply with the National Electrical Code(NEC). The system includes the use of a two inch concrete encasement which is reinforced by metal plates. A lower portion of the concrete encasement has a flat metal bar therein for mounting to rods extending from a secure ceiling area of a building. The protective nature of the encasement enables the service conduit to be designated as outside of a building and thus in compliance with NEC standards.
