Method for measuring the concentration of a substance in a solution

PCT No. PCT / SE95 / 00888 Sec. 371 Date Apr. 17, 1997 Sec. 102(e) Date Apr. 17, 1997 PCT Filed Jul. 28, 1995 PCT Pub. No. WO96 / 04401 PCT Pub. Date Feb. 15, 1996Methods and apparatus for measuring the concentration of decomposable substances, such as urea, are disclosed. The disclosed methods include adding a gaseous buffer, such as CO2, to the solution containing the decomposable compound, measuring the conductivity of the solution, decomposing the decomposable compound, measuring the conductivity of the thus-decomposed compound solution, and calculating the differential conductivities between the two measured solutions. The apparatus for carrying out these methods are also disclosed.

Bubble removing method

A method removes bubbles from a liquid in a liquid ejecting apparatus. The liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid storing chamber that stores a liquid and a first pressure control chamber adjacent to the liquid storing chamber with a first partition wall portion having flexibility and gas permeability interposed therebetween. A pressure control valve opens or seals an inlet of the liquid storing chamber in response to displacement of the first partition wall portion. A switching valve connects to the first pressure control chamber. A depressurizing pump is connected to the switching valve. An ejection port on the downstream side of the liquid storing chamber ejects the liquid. The method includes communicating the first pressure control chamber with the depressurizing pump by controlling the switching valve, depressurizing the first pressure control chamber by driving the depressurizing pump, and sealing the first pressure control chamber by controlling the switching valve.

Droplet discharge head and inkjet recording apparatus

The droplet discharge head comprises: a nozzle which discharges droplets of a liquid; a pressure chamber which is in communication with the nozzle and is filled with the liquid to be discharged from the nozzle; and a pressure generation device which generates pressure variation in the liquid inside the pressure chamber and causes the droplets to be discharged from the nozzle, wherein: the pressure chamber has a substantially triangular planar shape; the pressure chamber is provided with a first conduit which conducts the liquid from the pressure chamber to the nozzle, a second conduit which causes the liquid to flow into the pressure chamber, a third conduit which drains the liquid in the pressure chamber to exterior of the pressure chamber, and a switching device which opens and closes a flow channel in at least one of the second and third conduits; and the first, second and third conduits are connected to the pressure chamber at positions in vicinity of different vertices of the substantially triangular shape, respectively.

Fryer

A fryer is provided which, during a standby for cooking, can keep the temperature of a cooking oil slightly lower than a cooking temperature and, during cooking, can quickly raise the oil temperature to the cooking temperature. The fryer also has capabilities of easily performing a heat exchange operation on the cooking oil, preventing degradation of the cooking oil, securing a good kitchen environment and enhancing a work efficiency. The fryer comprises a fryer tank having oil and water for cleaning the oil stored in two layers one upon the other; and a heater installed in the oil layer; wherein the water in the water layer is drawn out from a water suction opening at a bottom of fryer tank, cleaned by a filtering water tank and then delivered into the fryer tank almost horizontally in an off-centered direction from a water supply opening formed in a lower, side wall of the fryer tank, thus rotating the water in the fryer tank in a swirl. The fryer also has a device for discharging impurities collected in the filtering water tank.

Vacuum thermal bonding apparatus and vacuum thermal bonding method

A vacuum thermally bonding apparatus is provided, in which while air is being prevented in vacuum from entering a bonding layer, an element is thermally bonded to a substrate under vacuum by forming the bonding layer. A lower end portion of an upper frame member is gas-tightly slidably sealed to a peripheral portion of the lower plate member to form a vacuum partition wall therein, and a pressurizing release film is contacted with an upper face of the element, and thermally softened in the atmospheric pressure. A vacuum chamber is evacuated to vacuum, and the lower plate member and an intermediate member are relatively moved in an approaching direction, so that an outer peripheral portion of the pressurizing release film is gas-tightly held between the upper face of the substrate-placing table of the lower plate member and a lower face of an inner frame body.

Refrigerator and operating method of the same

When a Stirling refrigerating engine for cooling a refrigerator starts, an operation is performed such that a gas-phase fluid flowing through a natural circulation circuit on a high temperature side attains a temperature higher than that in a normal operation. More specifically, the Stirling refrigerating engine operates with a piston drive speed higher than a normal speed, or a fan motor arranged for a condenser on the high temperature side stops. Thereby, a gas / liquid coexistent refrigerant in a high temperature side evaporator attains a pressure higher than a normal pressure. Thereby, a liquid phase fluid in a forced-circulation circuit on a high temperature side also attains a pressure higher than a normal pressure so that bubbles produced in the liquid phase fluid disappear, and a circulation pump can start.
