Prostatic stent with localized tissue engaging anchoring means and methods for inhibiting obstruction of the prostatic urethra

A prostatic stent is configured as a unitary body which is adapted to reside above the sphincter when in position in the subject includes an elongated tube which extends through the sphincter and outside the body of the subject. The stent is configured to allow natural operation of the sphincter when in position in the subject. The unitary body stent includes a lower inflatable portion which expands to contact tissue and help hold the stent in a desired location during a chronic use period of about 2-14 days. The stent can also include an upper and/or intermediate inflatable portions. A method of inhibiting the obstruction or closure of the prostatic urethral opening includes positioning the stent in the subject such that the unitary body of the stent is in the prostate and resides above the sphincter. A method treating BPH includes thermally ablating localized tissue in the prostate and inserting a post-treatment catheter into the prostate (preferably after an initial healing period) to allow the treated tissue to contour therearound and to maintain the urinary passage open. The stent is configured as a unitary body stent adapted to reside above the sphincter of the subject and to allow substantially normal operation of the sphincter. The stent can include a lower inflatable portion which engages, when expanded, with tissue below the localized treatment region about the membranous urethra (between the sphincter and the verumontanum). The post-treatment catheter is configured to reside in the subject for a period of about 2-14 days after delivery of the thermal ablation treatment or therapy.

The present invention relates to food preparation. In order to provide improved residual material collection, an apparatus (10) for preparing food is provided that comprises a food preparation chamber (12), an air movement device (14), a heating device (16), and air guiding means (18). The food preparation chamber is provided by a container structure (22) at least partly enclosing a receiving volume (24) for receiving food to be prepared by a through-streaming of hot air. The container structure comprises sidewalls (26) and a bottom wall (28), wherein the bottom wall and / or one of the side walls is air-permeable providing an air entry opening (30) for entering of hot air into the receiving volume, and wherein the container structure comprises an air discharge opening (32). The heating device is configured to heat air of an air flow provided by the air movement device. The air guiding means provide an air duct arrangement (34) from the discharge opening via the heating device and the air movement device to the air entry opening. A collecting device (180) with a collection volume (182) is provided below the food preparation chamber for collecting residual material.

Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Device and System

The invention provides a solid oxide fuel cell device and a fuel cell system incorporating a plurality of the fuel devices, each device including an elongate substrate the length of which is the greatest dimension such that the elongate substrate has a coefficient of thermal expansion having only one dominant axis that is coextensive with the length. A reaction zone is provided along a first portion of the length for heating to an operating reaction temperature, and at least one cold zone is provided along a second portion of the length that remains at a low temperature below the operating reaction temperature when the reaction zone is heated. A plurality of fuel passages and oxidizer passages are provided in the elongate substrate extending from the at least one cool zone to the reaction zone, each fuel passage having an associated anode in the reaction zone, and each oxidizer passage having an associated cathode in the reaction zone positioned in opposing relation to a respective one of the associated anodes. An electrolyte is disposed between each of the opposing anodes and cathodes in the reaction zone. The system further includes the devices positioned with their first portions in a hot zone chamber and their cold zones extending outside the hot zone chamber. A heat source is coupled to the hot zone chamber to heat the reaction zones to the operating reaction temperature. A fuel supply is coupled outside the hot zone chamber to the at least one cold zones in fluid communication with the fuel passages for supplying a fuel flow into the fuel passages.
