A heat pump water heater and systems and methods for its control are disclosed. The systems are configured to heat water within a water storage tank of a heat pump water heater wherein a controller within the system is operatively connected to a plurality of heat sources including at least one electric heating element and a heat pump and sensors in order to selectively energize one of the plurality of heat sources. The controller is configure to process data representative of the temperature of water within the tank near the top of the water storage tank, and rate of water flowing out of the water storage tank, in order to automatically selectively energize the heat sources. The selection of heat sources by the controller is determined by a mode of operation selected by the user and the data processed by the controller in view of the selected mode of operation.

Device for collecting water from air

The present invention is directed to a water making device that collects the moisture contained in the atmosphere and condenses it into high purity water. In one embodiment, moist air entering the water making / water cooling system flows across an air filter, then a precooler heat exchanger (where the air stream is cooled to or close to its dew point) and then a water extraction heat exchanger, where the air stream is cooled further and water is extracted. The water that leaves water extraction heat exchanger is collected in a water collection device and passes from there through a primary water filter into a water storage tank. The air stream then passes across a reheat heat exchanger and exhausted to the outside. A water circulation pump extracts water from the water storage tank and circulates the water stream through an evaporator of a vapor compression refrigeration system, where the water stream is chilled, then through the water extraction heat exchanger and precooler, where the incoming air stream is chilled by removing heat to the water stream. The water stream is then circulated through the reheat heat exchanger, where the water stream is again cooled by removing heat to the cool dry air exiting the water extraction heat exchanger. Finally, the cooled water stream is circulated through the water filter to a three way valve, that directs water flow either to a dispenser or back to the water storage tank.

A seawater desalination system is provided using a jet technique, which comprises a filter apparatus, a sonic energy treatment apparatus, and a desalination apparatus. After being coarse-filtered and fine-filtered, the seawater enters the sonic energy treatment apparatus. After being treated by the sonic energy treatment apparatus, the seawater is stored in a water storage tank in the form of small molecular clusters, and then pumped into a reverse osmosis membrane. After osmosis, the water becomes freshwater and stored in a freshwater tank. During the process, the reverse osmosis membrane can be replaced by a distillatory. The system has the advantages of a simple structure of the seawater desalination apparatus, less investment, low cost, and stable performance. The seawater is not only desalinated, but also chain-shortened into water of small molecular clusters, which is easily absorbed and utilized by human body.

The test method comprises the following steps; cutting the rock into rock core samples conforming to the standard flow guide chamber, and sealing and curing the rock core samples; placing the rock core samples into the rock core chamber; adopting a gasket for simulating the crack width; sequentially opening a clear water storage tank and an acid liquid storage tank; starting the computer, and inputting experiment parameters; and calculating the flow guide capability of the acid etching cracks of the rock core samples. The invention can simulate the real conditions of the underground acid etching crack forms, and can meet the requirements of the acid etching crack flow guide capability test under different environment conditions.

A method and system for recovering thermal energy from an ambient environment includes an evaporator plate assembly located in the ambient environment, such as outdoors to absorb thermal energy from air. A compressor, heat exchanger, and water storage tank are located indoors. Fluid lines provide a closed circuit between the evaporator plate assembly, the compressor, and the heat exchanger. Water lines provide a flow path between the exchanger and the hot water tank. Refrigerant fluid in the evaporator plate assembly absorbs thermal energy from the ambient environment, and the fluid is then compressed by the compressor to increase the temperature thereof. The heated fluid transfers thermal energy to water in the heat exchanger, which is then stored in the tank for use. A tank-type flusher includes an intake valve, i.e., a fill valve, a diaphragm-operated flush valve, and a pressure control mechanism. The intake valve is connected to an external water source and is constructed to close water flow to a water storage tank at about a predefined water level in the water tank. The diaphragm-operated flush valve is constructed to control a flush valve member between a seated state and an unseated state allowing water discharge from the water tank into a toilet bowl. There is a diaphragm, separating a flush-valve chamber and a pilot chamber, arranged to seal the flush-valve chamber and thereby maintain pressure forcing the flush valve member to the seated state preventing the water discharge from the water storage tank to the toilet bowl. The pressure control mechanism is constructed and arranged, upon actuation, to reduce pressure in the pilot chamber of the diaphragm-operated flush valve to cause deformation of the diaphragm and thereby reduce pressure in the flush-valve chamber causing the water discharge.
