A group acknowledgment scheme permits a specified subset of a previously transmitted group of data frames to be acknowledged. In accordance with the preferred embodiment of the invention, a transmitting station sends a plurality of data frames to a receiving station and requests a single group acknowledgment frame from the receiving station, rather than an individual acknowledgment after each data frame. Also, the transmitting station's group acknowledgment request frame specifies or otherwise indicates which of the previously transmitted group of frames should be acknowledged and awaited by the receiving station. The group acknowledgment may apply to the entire group of frames, some but not all of the frames or just a single frame. Further, the receiving station's group acknowledgment frame defines the size of a buffer allocated to receive the next group of frame transmissions that are linked to the same group acknowledgment scheme.

Imaging arrays typically include thousands or millions of photodetectors that convert sensed light into corresponding electric signals, which are ultimately converted into digital image signals for recording or viewing. One problem with conventional imaging arrays concerns faulty photodetectors, which produce erroneous image signals that ultimately degrade the quality of resulting images. Accordingly, the present inventors devised new imaging arrays including redundant photodetectors to compensate for faulty ones. One exemplary embodiment includes photodetectors that are substantially smaller than conventional photodetectors and that are arranged into two or more groups, with the photodetectors in each group coupled to produce a single group image signal. If the group image signal for a group falls below some threshold level indicative of a defective or malfunctioning photodetector, the group image signal is amplified to compensate for the loss.

A freely distributed cryptographically signed group file with an embedded expiration date is associated with each individual digital certificate. A single group file can be associated with more than one digital certificate but each digital certificate is associated with a single group file. The group file contains cryptographic keys that can be used to decrypt a section of the digital certificate revealing a set of client keys. The client keys are then used to encrypt a program key which are then sent back to the client device. When the client device requests a specific data stream or digital content, an issuance timestamp associated with the content is compared to the expiration date in the group file. If the issuance timestamp is after the expiration date, the client device is declined. If the issuance timestamp is before the expiration date, the requested content, encrypted utilizing the program key, is sent to the client device.

The inference engine may be on a remote server. The client side device may include a visual user interface as well as a small amount of user side intelligence. In one embodiment, a visual interface on the client device helps the user create a product comprised of selectable components, where each component is placed where the user wants it. Since the client device contains some amount of user intelligence, the client device does not need to send an entire web page to the inference engine, and receive an entire new web page from the inference engine, every time a user selects a component. Instead, once a user makes a selection, the client device can merely send over to the inference engine, the component selected, and the desired placement of the component. The inference engine, in turn, can merely send over information regarding which slots are constrained and how. The client device may include a web-browser, via which it can communicate with the inference engine over the Internet.

The invention aims to solve the problems in the existing traffic signboard recognition method that the recognition target falls into a single group and the speed in doing so is slow. The invention, out of this concept, provides a fast traffic signboard recognition method based on convolution neural network, referred to as FTSR-CNN in abbreviation. This method comprises: using the convolution kernel sliding filter extracted characteristics; obtaining the loss of the network in the forward learning process, and ensuring the accuracy of the network model to the recognition of multiple categories of signboards; optimizing the network performances through the adjustment of the parameters, the activation of the function types and the reduction of dimensions for better accuracy and timeliness eventually; and at the same time, in order to make the samples more diverse, conducting data adding and expanding to the samples in the data set based on affine transformation. The recognition rates of the FTSR-CNN for two data set tests of the German traffic signboard data set GTSRB and the Tsinghua-Tencent 100K are recorded as 95.74% and 96.67% respectively. The results indicate that the recognition speed is increased on the same recognition accuracy level through the modification of a previous model network and the start up of different training strategies by the FTSR-CNN.
