Systems and Methods to Process Payments via Account Identifiers and Phone Numbers

Systems and methods are provided to facilitate transactions via mobile communications. In one aspect, a system includes a data storage facility and an interchange coupled with the data storage facility that stores data associating a phone number of a user and an account identifier of the user. The interchange includes a common format processor and a plurality of converters to interface with a plurality of different controllers of mobile communications. The converters are configured to communicate with the controllers in different formats and with the common format processor in a common format. The common format processor uses one of the converters to transmit premium messages to the phone number to collect funds via a telecommunication carrier, receives a payment request having the account identifier, identifies the phone number based on the account identifier, and makes a payment on behalf of the user using the collected funds.

Spread Spectrum Communications System and Method Utilizing Chaotic Sequence

A method is provided for generating a coherent chaotic sequence spread spectrum communications system. The method includes phase modulating a carrier with information symbols. The method also includes generating a string of discrete time chaotic samples. The method further includes modulating the carrier in a chaotic manner using the string of discrete time chaotic samples. Each of the discrete time chaotic samples has a shorter sample time interval than the duration of the information symbols. The generating step includes selecting a plurality of polynomial equations. The generating step also includes using residue number system (RNS) arithmetic operations to respectively determine solutions for the polynomial equations. The solutions are iteratively computed and expressed as RNS residue values. The generating step further includes determining a series of digits in the weighted number system based on the RNS residue values. The method further includes synchronizing the chaos generated at the receiver with that generated at the transmitter without periodic transfer of state update information.

Systems and methods for managing product returns using return authorization numbers

Systems and methods are disclosed for managing product returns. In one embodiment, when a request from a customer to return a product is authorized, a record in each of a plurality of systems for managing the product return is created and a unique identifier is assigned to the product return. The unique identifier may then be associated with each record corresponding the product to be returned and, thereafter, information regarding the product return may be exchanged between the plurality of management systems utilizing the unique identifier.

Improved methods of disseminating advertising messages to consumers are provided for. The methods comprise providing novel pouch packages for products that are constructed in accordance with the subject invention. The packaged product with the advertising message is distributed to a consumer outlet and then to consumers associated with the consumer outlet. Preferably, the product is a single-serve food product which is distributed to food service establishments. The novel pouch packages provided for by the subject invention comprise one or more flexible imprintable substrate sheets. The substrate sheets comprise collectively one or more pouch sections defining a sealed volume accommodating a product therein and a message section providing a substrate on which a message may be imprinted. The pouch sections are provided on one or more of the substrate sheets. The messages section is provided on one of the same substrate sheets or another substrate sheet. The message section is connected to at least one of the pouch sections, but is separable from the pouch sections without compromising the integrity of the sealed volume. Thus, the advertising message may be removed from the sealed volume and viewed by a consumer. The novel pouch containers also include preferred embodiments having a manufacturer coupon imprinted on the message section that is redeemable by a consumer of the packaged product and that has imprinted thereon machine readable indicia to facilitate automated processing of the coupon. Preferably the machine readable indicia are a UPC bar code utilizing the UCC/EAN-128 Article Numbering System or another bar code.

Apparatus and method using compressed codes for comprising latitude/longitude information

A new human interface scheme compresses geographical information, latitudes and longitudes, into a 10 symbols of 36 radices number systems which are based on 36s. It is to simplify the conventional representation of the latitudes and longitudes into much easier to be remembered and accessed by human beings, 10 symbols of 36 radices numbers, “Universal Geo Numbers”. The 5 symbols here can give the accuracy for latitudes and longitudes down to 5 meters which should be enough to accommodate the specifications for most geographic navigation related systems (i.e. GPS / GLONASS) and navigation equipments in the consumer market. The apparatus includes all means that comprise latitude / longitude information into the compressed codes for interfacing between human and machines. A technique for compressing latitude and longitude data into a compression code comprises the steps of: taking Latitude / longitude data in decimal format or converting all other formats into decimal format; adding 90 degrees to latitude values and 180 degrees to longitude values in order to shift them into the positive values; eliminating the decimal points and converting the latitude and longitude values in decimal into 5 symbols of 36 based numbers respectively; and interlacing these two numbers inverting a final format. The present invention further includes a decimator, an adder, a converter and an interlacer for performing the step of above method.
