Data processing apparatus

In a data processing apparatus that switches between a secure mode and a normal mode during execution, the secure mode allowing access to secure resources to be protected, the normal mode not allowing access to the secure resources, when the secure resources increase in the secure mode, the load on a protection mechanism for protecting the resources becomes large. Thus, there is a demand for data processing apparatuses that are able to reduce secure resources. The present invention relates to a data processing apparatus that stores therein a secure program including one or more processing procedures which use secure resources and a call instruction for calling a normal program to be executed in a normal mode. While executing the secure program, the data processing apparatus calls the normal program with the call instruction and operates according to the called normal program.

Native wi-fi architecture for 802.11 networks

A software based wireless infrastructure system is provided. The system has a driver that communicates with the network stack and a network interface card (NIC), a station server in communication with the station driver and an 802.1X supplicant or an 802.1X authenticator. Each NIC provides station and / or access point functionality support. The driver drops packets that have been received if the packet has not been authenticated and associated. Packets that have been fragmented or encrypted are unfragmented and decrypted. An association manager is used in conjunction with a configuration table manager to associate stations and access points via management packets. A manager receives 802.1X data packets from the packet processor and sends them up to a station server that communicates with user mode applications and an 802.1X supplicant or an 802.1X authenticator that are used to authenticate and deauthenticate stations and access points. APIs are provided to enable communication between the components.

Tunable microfluidic optical fiber devices and systems

A tunable optical fiber device comprises a length of fiber having a core having a certain refractive index; a cladding peripherally surrounding the core with a refractive index less than the refractive index of the core; and at least one hollow region disposed within the cladding in proximity to the core or within the core itself. Fluid (typically liquid) controllably moved within the hollow region modifies the effective index of the fiber and thereby tunes its characteristics.

Polishing pad and production method thereof

There are provided a polishing pad which exhibits excellent polishing stability and excellent slurry retainability during polishing and even after dressing, can prevent a reduction in polishing rate effectively and is also excellent in an ability to flatten an substrate to be polished, and a method for producing the polishing pad. The method comprises dispersing water-soluble particles such as β-cyclodextrin into a crosslinking agent such as a polypropylene glycol so as to obtain a dispersion, mixing the dispersion with a polyisocyanate such as 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate and / or an isocyanate terminated urethane prepolymer, and reacting the mixed solution so as to obtain a polishing pad having the water-soluble particles dispersed in the matrix.

Double-sided projection exposure device of belt-shape workpieces

Double-sided projection exposure apparatus, to simultaneously expose both faces of a belt-like work for a pattern and to prevent an out-of-focus state or vibration even when the work thermally expands during exposure. The belt-like work W released from a unwinding roll 1 is sent to an exposure section 5, subjected to the tension in the traveling direction and in the direction perpendicular thereto by a first tension imparting means 11 and a second tension imparting means (not shown in the figure) to such a degree to compensate the estimated thermal expansion during exposure, and held with the tension applied by a work holding means 6. A mask M1 and an alignment mark on the top face of the work W, and a mask M2 and an alignment mark on the back face of the work W are detected and aligned. After completing the alignment, the top face and the back face of the belt-like work W are simultaneously exposed by irradiating with exposure light from irradiation parts 41, 42 via the masks M1, M2 and projection lenses 31, 32.

System and method for physical one-way function authentication via chaotic integrated photonic resonators

A system and method is provided for a cryptographic primitive and authentication protocol comprised of micro-cavity resonators at optical wavelengths. A micro-cavity resonator is illuminated with an optical challenge signal and the cavity returns an output response that is dependent on the input signal. Digital signal processing is performed on the output signal to generate a corresponding digital representation. This process is repeated for variations of the input signal with its digital output being stored in a database. A user or object claiming an identity presents a token to the system. The system selects a subset of the available challenge-response pairs and presents the challenges to the token. The system compares the digitized responses with the original responses expected for that token. The system will approve or deny the claimed identity corresponding to the presented token.

Use of colored beads in an augmented simple abacus

The use of colored beads with an augmented simple abacus, adds an addition or expansion to the previous augmentations described in my previous patent which has the title: Augmented Simple Abacus With an Underlying Grid of Numbers or a Blank Sheet. And this invention has been given Publication No. US-2012-0028229-A1, and a Publication Date of: Feb. 1, 2012.This addition of colored beads to an augmented simple abacus is very helpful to the user in understanding or gaining insight into the relationships of numbers under 100. And the use of colored beads is very helpful to users of these types of abacuses in learning to: count, add, subtract, and learn the multiplication tables. And colored beads are also helpful in gaining an understanding of the “factors” in many numbers, and also in understanding the common factors in many numbers.

Test and answer key generation system and method

A system and method for generating a test and an answer key to identify correct answers is disclosed. A test can be created by entering a set of questions with answer choices and correct answers at the same time. The tests can be rendered via a rendering device that includes both the questions and the answer choices. A ticket can be generated that drives a CNC (computer numerically control) machine to create a punched answer key with holes that align over correct answers. The answer key can also be rendered on a transparency utilizing a solid color everywhere except an area where the correct answer should be marked. The test and the answer key can also be rendered and aligned side by side in order to identify correct answers.
