The invention discloses an illuminating light source device and a sampling and controlling method. The illuminating light source device comprises a laser component, a coupling mirror and a single-core light-guide fiber. The laser component is used for emitting mixed light including red laser light, green laser light, blue laser light and yellow laser light, output intensity of the laser light can be adjusted, and accordingly the color of illuminating light can be adjusted; the coupling mirror is located on a light path of the mixed light and is used for refracting and collecting the mixed light; and one end of the single-core light-guide fiber is located at a focus of the coupling mirror while the other end of the single-core light-guide fiber is used for being connected with an endoscope or an inner mirror. The illuminating light source device not only has the illuminating intensity identical to that of a xenon lamp or a halogen lamp, but also can be prevented from generating high heat due to the fact that the light is mixed with infrared rays or ultraviolet rays. In addition, the mixed illuminating light is transmitted to the endoscope or the inner mirror via the single-core light-guide fiber, and furthermore, the single-core light-guide fiber is small in volume and convenient in use, and is soft.

A method of despeckling light that includes mixing high-speckle far-red laser light with low-speckle green laser light in amounts selected to achieve a desired color point in a digital image. The optical unit includes a red color laser light source, a green color laser light source, and a blue color laser light source, and these laser light sources are positioned in the cooling air passage. Further, the image display apparatus has an air blower that cools the laser light sources of the respective colors by introducing air from the air inlet port and exhausting air from the exhaust port; and a lens that is provided on the light-emitting side of the laser light sources. The red color laser light source is positioned closer to an upstream side of the cooling air passage than the green color laser light source and the blue color laser light source. With this, the temperature of the red color laser light source apparatus is not increased by a long period of use, and thereby image quality deterioration is prevented.

Laser light corresponding to the light colours transmitted by the wavelength-selective portions, from laser light (12) emitted from a light guide panel (14), is transmitted through the wavelength-selective substrate (23) without alteration and falls incident on a liquid crystal panel (22), while the non-correspondent laser light is reflected by the wavelength-selective substrate (23) and returned to the light guide panel (14). The laser light returned to the light guide panel (14) is reflected by a reflective panel (21) and caused to again fall incident on the wavelength-selective substrate (23). The laser light is repeatedly reflected and returned until the laser light is transmitted through the wavelength-selective portions. This repeated process of transmission and reflection splits the laser light (12) into the colors of red, green and blue which are emitted from the wavelength-selective substrate (23).
