Variable duration non-event pattern matching

Techniques for performing non-event pattern matching on continuous event streams using variable duration. The duration value used in non-event pattern matching can be variable. Accordingly, a first pattern match candidate can have a different associated duration from a second pattern match candidate for matches arising from events received via an event stream. In certain embodiments, the duration for a candidate pattern match may be based upon one or more attributes of an event that started the candidate pattern match or based upon an expression (e.g., an arithmetic expression) involving one or more attributes of the event.

Method and system for versatile automated commissioning tools

A method and system for versatile automated commissioning tools providing an automated process for calculating commissions on a reoccurring basis under a plurality of user defined commission plans. In one illustrative embodiment, the automated process entails receiving a request to calculate commissions for a specific instance and then identifying the commission plans having commissions owing and calculable for the specific instance. Once the plans have been identified, the process next comprises importing the appropriate sales records from an external source and calculating commissions for recipients named in connection with the commission plans. To calculate the commissions for a commission plan, one or more user defined queries specific to the commission plan are applied to the imported sales records to manipulate the sales records and to extract the desired sales figures. After extraction, the sales figures are dynamically incorporated into an arithmetic expression previously defined by the user whereby the commission for each of the recipients is calculated. Once the commissions have been calculated for the specific instance, the commissions for another specific instance may be calculated with little or no further input required from the user. In another illustrative embodiment, the user defines the terms and criteria by which the commissions will be calculated through a graphical user interface. The graphical user interface allows an unsophisticated user to define the parameters of the various aspects of the present invention without an extensive knowledge of a programming language. The parameters entered by the user are then saved in a table format, thereby allowing them to be accessed easily and efficiently. Notably, a three-tiered architecture allows the deployment of the present invention in a single computer setting or a networked environment.

Display device, display panel driver and method of driving a display panel

An LCD device (1) according to the present invention has: an LCD panel (2); an operation and correction circuit (14) configureured to perform a correction operation with respect to an input gray-scale data of a target frame image by using an arithmetic expression to generate an output gray-scale data; a data line driver (15 to 17) configureured to drive the LCD panel (2) in accordance with the output gray-scale data; and a correction data calculation circuit (13) configureured to generate a correction data that specifies a relationship between the input gray-scale data and the output gray-scale data of the target frame image, depending on the input gray-scale data of the target frame image or an input gray-scale data of a precedent frame image followed by the target frame image. The operation and correction circuit (14) determines coefficients of the arithmetic expression from the correction data.

Image processing apparatus

An image processing apparatus includes a replacement unit and interpolation unit. For the pixel value of a pixel that need not be replaced among pixel values contained in original image data, the replacement unit adds replacement information indicating non-replacement of the pixel value to the pixel value, and outputs the pixel value as replacement information-added image data. For the pixel value of a pixel that needs to be replaced, the replacement unit replaces the pixel value by a predetermined pixel value, adds replacement information indicating replacement of the pixel value to the replaced pixel value, and outputs the pixel value as replacement information-added image data. The interpolation unit outputs interpolated pixel values having all color information by interpolating a pixel value at an interpolation point for each color information on the basis of a predetermined arithmetic expression from the pixel values of pixels of the same color falling within a predetermined interpolation region containing the interpolation point among all replacement information-added image data output from the replacement unit. When replacement information of any pixel used for calculation indicates replacement, the interpolation unit uses an arithmetic expression different from the arithmetic expression.

To provide a valve controller which is convenient for users in that, even users without abundant experience and expert knowledge can obtain the optimum operation performance for a short period of time; and it can be prevented that control performance is caused to be deteriorated on the contrary in dependence on changing way of each coefficient. A valve controller 8 for controlling valve opening of an expansion valve 4 by calculating the valve opening such that a detected temperature (degree of superheat) Tsh coincides with a target temperature (degree of superheat) TS comprises: automatic tuning means for calculating a deviation e(t) between the detected temperature and the target temperature and for calculating changing amount of the valve opening m(t) by substituting at least the deviation and a set control parameter (PB, Ti, Td) into an arithmetic expression to automatically set the control parameter; and control level adjusting means for adjusting a magnitude of the valve opening calculated with the control parameter set by the automatic tuning means in stages in accordance with a set control level, and so on.

Optical measuring device, optical measuring method, and storage medium storing optical measurement program

The present invention provides an optical measuring apparatus and an optical measuring method for being able to correct the influence of a superficial tissue to be able to accurately measure a degree of light absorption of a deep layer tissue such as a human body and fruits, and a storage medium that stores an optical measuring program. The optical measuring apparatus includes a probe, and the probe includes one light emitting diode and two photodiodes. In a configuration of the optical measuring apparatus, one of the photodiodes receives light which is emitted from the light emitting diode and transmitted through a superficial layer and a deep layer of a tissue, and the other photodiode receives light having a deep layer transmission distance different from that of the light received by one of the photodiodes. The light received by the other photodiode is also transmitted through the superficial layer and deep layer of the tissue. Based on intensity of the light received by each photodiode, a control unit computes a propagation constant in a medium through which the light propagates. An arithmetic expression is selected in accordance with an input fat thickness of the tissue, and an absorption coefficient of the light from a muscle tissue using the arithmetic expression based on the fat thickness and a spatial slope. A hemoglobin concentration and an oxygen saturation are obtained based on the obtained absorption coefficient of the light.
