Compensating optical coupler for visible and nir imaging

An optical system, in particular for endoscopic applications, is disclosed which uses wavelength-compensating optical components, in particular prisms, made of materials with different inter-element coatings and refractive indices to image significantly different wavelength-ranges (VIS and NIR) onto the same image plane of an image acquisition device, such as a CCD sensor.

LDPC decoding apparatus and method with low computational complexity algorithm

Provided are an LDPC decoding apparatus and method using a sequential decoding algorithm having a partial group, capable of reducing the number of an iterative decoding by more than half without degrading the performance and increasing an amount of computation. The LDPC decoding method includes the steps of: receiving a prior probability information (channel values) based on information on channel values associated with distance between symbol signals in constellation related to the received noise and LDPC encoded data, and initializing bit nodes; dividing check nodes into partial groups before updating check node information based on the prior probability information, and performing a decoding by applying a sequential decoding algorithm; determining whether a parity check equations are satisfied; and outputting decoded messages obtained when satisfying the parity check equation or after terminating an iterative processor by a termination algorithm.

Data replication in a storage system

For a storage system having plural control units to which plural disk devices are connected, in the method for creating replication in a volume of the disk devices connected to different control units, when receiving update I / O of a replication source during an initial copy for replication, the reflection of update to the replication destination is performed on an extension of the same I / O. When a pair is divided after the completion of copying, the update position is retained on the differential bitmap disposed in the individual control units, and the differential bitmap is merged to one of the control units at a time of resynchronization to perform copy processing.

Radio communication system and transmitting apparatus used for the same

To provide a system that can accommodate a greater number of terminals within a limited band and can obtain a higher transmission rate. While the number of frequency signals (spectrums) output in parallel by performing a spread spectrum from the DFT unit of each terminal is 12, the number of sub-carriers constituting one sub-channel is set at 10 or 11. In this case, the users (users A and G) allocated to the sub-channels at both ends of the band will not perform transmission of one frequency signal at the end (one sub-carrier) of all the frequency signals output from the DFT unit, whereas the users (users B to F) allocated to the other sub-channels will not perform transmission of the frequency signals at the ends (two sub-carriers). This transmission can be realized by deleting (clipping) the associated number of signals from both ends or from one end of the frequency signals output from the DFT unit of each terminal and allocating the frequency signals after clipping, to individual sub-channels.

Wireless Terminal Surveillance System

An illustrative system and method for detecting a wireless terminal in a wireless network by ascertaining information about the wireless terminal's location, thus enabling individualized surveillance and tracking of certain wireless terminals. In some embodiments, the detection is triggered by a signal that is compliant with the Customized Applications for Mobile networks Enhanced Logic (“CAMEL”) protocol. Several kinds of mobile-telecommunications events can trigger detection, including events that do not involve call origination. Advantages include bypassing the home location register when obtaining a location estimate for the wireless terminal and when determining whether a wireless terminal is of interest.

Kyanite-based reinforced ultralight foam ceramic containing titanium dioxide coating and preparation method thereof

The invention provides kyanite-based reinforced ultralight foam ceramic containing a titanium dioxide coating and a preparation method thereof. The kyanite-based reinforced ultralight foam ceramic containing the titanium dioxide coating is prepared through the following steps: with kyanite powder as a raw material and anorthite as a sintering auxiliary agent, carrying out crystallization by utilizing polyvinyl alcohol, carrying out reinforcing by utilizing a ceramic powder hydrophobization modifier, then carrying out freeze drying and sintering so as to obtain foam ceramic, and attaching a titania gel layer on the surface of the foam ceramic by utilizing a negative pressure impregnation process so as to prepare the kyanite-based reinforced ultralight foam ceramic containing the titanium dioxide coating. The kyanite-based reinforced ultralight foam ceramic containing the titanium dioxide coating provided by the invention has uniform pore size, isotropy, good combination among ceramic crystalline grains and good adhesion force between the titanium dioxide coating and the ceramic crystalline grains; no impurity phase is introduced into the prepared foam ceramic, so the performances of ceramic may not be weakened; and a foam ceramic green body has good processability, can be processed through processes like cutting and carving, and has the advantages of high strength, light weight, smooth pores, no defects on the surface and improved thermal shock resistance.
