Infant simulator with floppy neck assembly having a full range of motion

An infant simulator with a neck linkage connecting the head to the torso which includes at least (a) a longitudinally extending central shaft fixedly attached to the torso proximate the lower end of the central shaft, (b) a socket fixedly attached to the head, (c) a ball fixedly attached to the central shaft and pivotally captured within the socket for permitting pivoting of the socket relative to the central shaft as between a longitudinally aligned central rest position and a longitudinally angled position, and (d) preferably a spring coaxially positioned around the central shaft and captured between the socket and the upper end of the central shaft, whereby the spring biases the socket into the longitudinally aligned central rest position.

Stabiliser bar for a motor vehicle

A roll bar (1′) for a motor vehicle is proposed according to the present invention, with an unsplit torsion bar (5′), which is rotatably fastened to a vehicle chassis (3), is connected to two opposite wheel suspensions (4′) of the said axle of the vehicle, and has a torsion area for the elastic coupling of spring action movements of the opposite wheel suspensions (4′), wherein the roll bar (1′) has, furthermore, a first torsion tube (8′), which surrounds the unsplit torsion bar (5′) at least in a first partial area (B′) of its torsion area, and whose first end (8a′) is connected to the unsplit torsion bar (5′), rotating in unison therewith, and whose second end (8b′) can be connected to the unsplit torsion bar (5′) by means of a clutch arrangement (9′) in such a way that it selectively rotates in unison therewith, so that the torsional stiffness of the roll bar (1′) can be varied.

Vehicle control device

A vehicle control device mounted on a hybrid vehicle that includes an engine, a motor, and a secondary battery for supplying power to the motor and that is capable of charging the secondary battery using electromotive force generated by the engine. This vehicle control device includes a target setting unit that sets a target charging rate of the secondary battery and a prediction unit that, on a traveling route of a host vehicle, acquires a parking point where it is predicted that a parking time will become longer than a predetermined threshold. The target setting unit is configured to change a setting of the target charging rate, when the host vehicle arrives at a point-before-parking-point that is a predetermined distance before the predicted parking point, to a value smaller than a basic target charging rate that is a target charging rate before the host vehicle arrives at the point-before-parking-point.

A vessel (10) designed to operate efficiently as both a catamaran and air cushion vessel can travel at low speed (e.g. Froude number (Fn)=0-0.3) in a catamaran or displacement mode and at high speed (e.g. Froude numbers (Fn)=0.3 or more) in an air cushion or dynamically supported mode. The vessel (10) includes molded catamaran hulls (11, 12) with parabolic waterlines, a flexible, air cushion seal system (16, 17), surface piercing propellers (20) and a propulsion system (e.g. combined diesel and gas turbine). There are preferably auxiliary gas turbines for generating lift air pressure. Forward mounted independently stabilizing foils (30), can optionally facilitate ride stabilization and load compensation at high and low speeds. The foils also generate transverse roll forces to improve high speed maneuvering.

An object is to suppress radiation of a cross polarized wave by a microstrip antenna to improve cross polarization discrimination of the traveling wave excitation antenna. A microstrip antenna wherein: a feed line 21 through which a traveling wave propagates, and a radiating element 22 that is excited by the traveling wave are formed on a dielectric substrate 1, and wherein: the radiating element 22 has a radiating part 22A for radiating a co-polarization wave, and an open stub 22B that has a stub length 22A substantially equal to λg / 4 and that extends from the radiating part toward a cross polarization direction. Therefore, without changing an element width Lb of the radiating element 22, radiation of a cross polarized wave by the radiating element 22 can be suppressed to improve cross polarization discrimination.
