Superset packet forwarding for overlapping filters and related systems and methods

ActiveUS8098677B1Improved management and controlFacilitate sharing accessData switching by path configurationMultiple digital computer combinationsReal-time computingEgress filtering
Systems and methods are disclosed that allow for improved management and control of packet forwarding in network systems. Network devices and tool optimizers and a related systems and methods are disclosed for improved packet forwarding between input ports and output ports. The input ports and output ports are configured to be connected to source devices and destination devices, for example, network sources and destination tools in a network monitoring environment. The network devices and tool optimizers disclosed can use superset packet forwarding, such that ingress filter engines are configured with ingress filter rules so as to forward a superset of packets to output ports associated with overlapping filters. Egress filter engines are configured with egress filter rules to then determine which of the superset packets are actually sent out the output ports.

Biomedical signal analysis techniques using wavelets

The invention is directed to signal processing techniques for electrograms or other biomedical signals. In particular, the signal processing techniques make use of wavelet transformation of the electrograms. For example, an electrogram can be represented by a finite set of wavelets which comprise a decomposition of the electrogram in the scale-time domain. In accordance with the invention, wavelet analysis techniques can be used to distinguish specific phenomena in electrograms. For example, wavelet analysis can be used to distinguish between occurrences of large amplitude steep deflections, small amplitude steep deflections, and large amplitude shallow deflections of an electrogram.

An improved fabric bulk bag, of the type having wall portions, a top portion, and a floor portion, all defining a space for storing bulk therein, and further providing a pair of channels, substantially parallel in relation, secured along the outer surface of the floor portion, each channel having two open ends; a substantially elongated rigid U-shaped support member insertable into each channel, the upper wall of the member contacting the outer surface of the bulk bag, and the two arms of the U-shaped member providing a travel space through the channel for receiving the tynes of a forklift, and allowing the tynes to contact the upper wall of the member when the bag is lifted; the two arms of the member also providing a stable pallet-like foundation for the bag when the bag is positioned atop another filled bag. There is further provided finger-like openings between the walls of the U-shaped member and the channels, to secure the edges of each channel to maintain the U-shaped member within each channel when the forklift tynes are engaging or disengaging from the channels. There is further provided blocks along the outer walls of the channel walls for filling any gaps between the fabric channels and the U-shaped members inserted therein.

Engine Speed Control for an Engine in a Hybrid Electric Vehicle Powertrain for Improved Noise, Vibration and Harshness

A control strategy is disclosed for regulating speed of an engine in a hybrid electric vehicle powertrain that includes an electric motor and gearing. An electrical power flow path and a mechanical power flow path are established. Electrical power is coordinated with mechanical power to effect an arbitrated engine speed for a given power demand that will result in an acceptable noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) characteristic for the powertrain and an acceptable powertrain efficiency.

Method and apparatus for locating foreign objects in the ear canal

The invention concerns a method for locating foreign objects on the internal surface of ear and ear canal whereby a probe having a light emitting distal portion is inserted into the ear canal, the method further comprising the steps of:—directing light from the distal portion of the probe to illuminate at least one point or the internal circumferential surface of the ear and / or ear canal,—receiving the light reflected from the illuminated surface, and directing the received light to at least one light sensitive element to generate an output,—analyzing the output with respect to spectral composition in order to identify foreign objects. The invention also relates to an apparatus for locating foreign objects on the internal surface of ear and ear canal.
