An automatic gain control circuit for a receive apparatus for a mobile object which automatically controls the gain of a variable gain amplifier amplifying a received signal from an antenna installed in the mobile object and outputting the amplified signal to the receive apparatus. The circuit comprises an intensity detector that detects an intensity of the received signal; a comparator that compares the detected intensity with first and second threshold voltages; and a controller that outputs a control signal for adjusting the gain to the variable gain amplifier based on the comparing results of the comparator so that the gain of the variable gain amplifier has a hysteresis with respect to the intensity of the received signal.

Method of controlling mobile communication system, control device, and mobile communication system

A mobile communication system controls switching a transmission diversity system for each channel, and improves the quality of the channel. When the channel type in an uplink is a channel for transmitting voice, open loop transmission diversity is used (steps S1→S3). When the channel type in an uplink is a channel for transmitting a packet, closed loop transmission diversity is used (steps S1→S2). Since the open loop transmission diversity or the closed loop transmission diversity whichever is more appropriate can be used, a transmission diversity system can be appropriately switched for each channel, thereby improving the quality of the channel.

A ring oscillator including a core circuit and a first adjusting circuit. The core circuit is for outputting a clock signal, and includes a plurality of ring stages. The first adjusting circuit is for receiving a plurality of first control information, and referring to the plurality of first control information to adjust the clock signal. The first adjusting circuit includes a plurality of bias circuits and a plurality of switch elements. The bias circuits are for providing a plurality of currents, and the switches are connected to the bias circuits in series and receive the plurality of first control information, respectively, wherein each switch element is selectively conducting according to a corresponding first control information for determining whether a current provided by a corresponding bias circuit is utilized to bias the core circuit.
