Task distribution processing system and the method for subscribing computers to perform computing tasks during idle time

A computer executable "aggregate" task is processed by dividing it into subtasks and distributing the subtasks "on demand" to remotely located subscribing computers via a computer network. The aggregate task originates at a coordinating computer, coupled to one or more peripheral computers by appropriate communications links. The coordinating computer divides the aggregate task into multiple independent subtasks. Each peripheral computer begins to "subscribe" to the coordinating computer's aggregate task by obtaining an "idle time activation program" from the coordinating computer, and then installing the program locally. The idle time activation program which may include a screen saver, activates automatically when the subscribing computer is inactive. Continuing the subscription process, each peripheral computer requests a subtask from the coordinating computer. In response, the coordinating computer distributes different subtasks among the subscribing computers, completing the subscription process. The subscribing computers automatically work on their respective subtasks whenever they are idle, as directed by the local idle time activation program. When a subscribing computer completes its subtask, it transmits results back to the coordinating computer. When results of all subtasks have been received from subscribing computers, the coordinating computer compiles and stores these results, concluding the aggregate task.

Magnetic resonance whole body antenna system, elliptically polarized with major ellipse axis tilted/non-horizontal at least when unoccupied by an examination subject

A magnetic resonance system obtaining magnetic resonance exposures of an examination subject, has an examination tunnel, a whole-body antenna with two connection terminals. The whole-body antenna cylindrically extends around the examination tunnel along a longitudinal axis. The system has a radio-frequency supply device in order to respectively supply the whole-body antenna with radio-frequency signals for emission of a radio-frequency field in the examination tunnel. The radio-frequency supply device has a radio-frequency generator for generation of a radio-frequency signal, a signal splitter that divides a radio-frequency signal coming from the radio-frequency generator into two partial signals that are phase-shifted by 90° relative to one another. Two radio-frequency feed lines are connected with the two connection terminals of the whole-body antenna. Via these radio-frequency feed lines, the two partial signals are fed into the whole-body antenna. The whole-body antenna has an intrinsic transmission characteristic such that a radio-frequency field is emitted that is elliptically polarized in a defined manner in a plane lying perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (at least in the unloaded state of the examination tunnel).

In-line measuring device

An inline measuring device includes a vibration-type measurement pickup having at least one measuring tube, which has a medium to be measured flowing through it during operation. The measuring tube is made by means of an exciter arrangement to execute, at least at times and / or at least in part, lateral oscillations and, at least at times and / or at least in part, torsional oscillations about an imaginary measuring tube longitudinal axis. The torsional oscillations alternate with the lateral oscillations or are, at times, superimposed thereon. Also included is a sensor arrangement for producing oscillation measurement signals correspondingly representing oscillations of the measuring tube. Measuring device electronics controlling the exciter arrangement generates, by means of at least one of the oscillation measurement signals and / or by means of the exciter current, at least at times, at least one measured value, which represents the at least one physical quantity to be measured. Additionally, the measuring device electronics also determines a first intermediate value, which corresponds to the lateral current component of the exciter current serving to maintain the lateral oscillations of the measuring tube and / or to a damping of the lateral oscillations of the measuring tube, as well as a second intermediate value, which corresponds to a torsional current component of the exciter current serving to maintain the torsional oscillations of the measuring tube and / or to a damping of the torsional oscillations of the measuring tube. With the goal of producing the measured value at high accuracy, such value is determined also taking into consideration these two intermediate values. The measured value obtained in this way is distinguished especially by high accuracy also in the case of media of two, or more, phases.

Method and combustor for combusting hydrogen

A plate burner for combusting hydrogen with air as an oxidizer forms a wall portion of a combustion chamber for example of a gas turbine. The plate burner is so constructed that air and hydrogen are separately guided to the downstream surface area facing into the combustion chamber for forming a large number of diffusive microcombustion flames, thus achieving a very low mixing scale simultaneously with a high nixing intensity. The number of diffusive micorcombustion flames is so selected that the NOx content in the exhaust gas from the combustion chamber is at the most 10x10-6 cubic foot per cubic foot of exhaust gas. The hydrogen enters the entrance area into the combustion chamber either through a porous wall, and air is injected into the hydrogen environment to form inverse diffusive microcombustion flames or the hydrogen is injected through a multitude of fine holes into high velocity air jets forming regular diffusion flames. In both instances, the formation of NOx in the exhaust gas during combustion is reduced to the above level or below.

Rise up table top

A lightweight and portable table that during its use can be set upon a desk or another table, and which has an upwardly extendable top surface with a maximum elevation of approximately one foot. It allows people working in a seated position at their desk to adjust the working top surface thereof to a more comfortable position, and alternatively allow them to comfortably work from the elevated top surface while in a standing position. The portable table is easy to manage, movable from one support surface to another with little effort, spring-assisted with load during up and down deployment, and it promotes improved health and welfare of its users. Applications include, but are not limited to, home use, business use, and use by healthcare workers who need prompt access to instruments and devices while in both sitting and standing positions when caring for different patients during a work day.

An apparatus, system, and method for decorating a mobile telephone or other personal electronic device uses a decorative label placed within one or more transparent and removable cover portions of the personal electronic device. The invention uses a printable sheet having a backing layer, adhesive layer, and printable face layer. The adhesive is bonded to the backing layer with greater force than to the face layer. The printable face layer has one or more labels cut therein. A user can select a desired decorative and / or functional pattern and print that pattern on the printable face layer. The user can then peel the label or labels away from the printable sheet, with the adhesive remaining on the backing layer.

Hygiene washing apparatus

When the human body is washed, washing water is sprayed on a surface to be washed of the human body from a posterior nozzle and a bidet nozzle. On the other hand, when the human body is not washed, the posterior nozzle and the bidet nozzle are subjected to high-temperature cleaning by a nozzle cleaning nozzle. When it is detected that a sanitary washing apparatus has not been employed yet, the posterior nozzle and the bidet nozzle are allowed to be cleaned by the nozzle cleaning nozzle by a controller. After a cleaning operation is terminated, a user is notified that the cleaning operation is terminated by a notification lamp and a speaker. A scale inhibiting material supply device is interposed in a pipe on the upstream side of an instantaneous heating device by the nozzle cleaning nozzle.
