The present invention uses specific cultivation system and method to produce vegetables with a nitrate nitrogen (NO3—N) concentration below 450 ppm (NO3—N (mg / kg)≦450 ppm). An advanced water cultivation system and a scheduled nutrient injection and removal method are used to achieve the specification of a nitrate nitrogen concentration less than 450 ppm. The nutrient supply and recycle system sets a time period prior to harvest to recycle nutrients and consume the nitrate nitrogen of the vegetables by supplying fresh water only, so that nitrate nitrogen remained in the vegetables can be consumed completely by the natural process of photosynthesis and the nitrate nitrogen concentration of these vegetables is much below those produced by traditional farming, water cultivation, organic cultivation or wildlife or those cannot achieve a low nitrate nitrogen under natural conditions. The invented solid material may be contacted directly with aqueous streams containing metal ions, and is selective to ions such as copper (II) even in the presence of such ions as iron (III) and other materials that are present in earthen materials. The solid material with high selectivity to copper may be used to recover copper from mining and plating industry streams, to replace the costly and toxic solvent extraction steps of conventional copper processing.

In the prior arts, in order to grow graphene layers, a metal foil or thin film has to be prepared and disposed either on the surface or in the vicinity of the of the work piece so as to catalyze the decomposition of carbon feedstock nearby. In contrast, the present invention uses a fluid which contains catalyst metal ions as the source of catalysts and imports the catalytic particles from outside of the working chamber. The metal particles catalyze the decomposition of carbon feedstock at high temperature and cause the direct growth of graphene layers on insulator substrates. Therefore, the present invention is able to use cost-effective materials as the source of catalysts to grow graphene for practical applications.
