Green, sustainable and high-yield planting method of sugarcane

The invention relates to a green, sustainable and high-yield planting method of sugarcane. The method comprises seven steps as follow: selection of healthy and high-quality sugarcane seeds, digging of sugarcane furrows, scientific fertilizer application, seed sowing and soil covering, mulching and soil covering, harvesting of sugarcane and management of perennial roots. Scientific planting and harvesting are strengthened in two key periods including sugarcane planting and harvesting. In the period of sugarcane planting, the consumption of fertilizers is reduced, special slow-release fertilizers for sugarcane and bio-organic fertilizers are applied, mulching films capable of being completely biodegraded are used for complete covering, and accordingly, growth of the sugarcane is promoted; in the period of sugarcane harvesting, a traditional cutting method is changed, cutting at depth of soil is adopted, fertilizers required by the perennial roots of the sugarcane are directly applied to the sugarcane furrows, soil dressing and complete film covering are performed, and management of the perennial roots of the sugarcane can be finished. Green production of the sugarcane is realized, the yield and the sucrose content are increased, the consumption of the fertilizers is reduced, the soil fertility is improved, the utilization rate is increased, the ecological environment of a sugarcane field is improved, growth of the sugarcane and increase of income of sugarcane growers are promoted, and popularization and application are facilitated.

Modern sugarcane cultivars are complex hybrids resulting from crosses among several species of the Saccharum genus. Traditional breeding methods have been extensively employed in different countries along the past decades to develop varieties with increased sucrose yield, and resistant to plagues and diseases. Conventional varietal improvement is, however, limited by the narrow pool of suitable markers. In this sense, molecular genetics is seen as a promising tool to assist in the process of molecular marker identification. The present invention concerns the identification of 348 genes associated with sucrose content in sugarcane plants. The genes were found to be differentially expressed when high sucrose and low sucrose plants and populations of plants were compared and/or when high and low sucrose internodes were compared. The expression data was obtained using cDNA microarray and quantitative PCR technologies. The genes identified can be used to identify, distinguish, characterize and/or develop plants with increased sucrose content. More preferably SEQ ID Nos: 1 to 203 should be useful as molecular markers. SEQ ID Nos: 204 to 228 are given as controls or examples of genes never associated with sucrose content. SEQ ID Nos. 1-203 and SEQ ID Nos. 229 to 373 can be targeted in the development of transgenic or non-transgenic varieties with increased sucrose content.

The invention relates to the fertilizer technology, and in particular relates to a long-lasting potassium sulphate type compound fertilizer special for sugarcanes, which comprises the following components in parts by pure nutrient weight: 14-22 parts of nitrogen, 4-12 parts of phosphorus pentoxide, 12-18 parts of potassium oxide and 0.07-0.26 part of combined biochemical inhibitor, wherein the combined biochemical inhibitor is prepared from a urease inhibitor and a nitrification inhibitor, the urease inhibitor is composed of hydroquinone (IIQ) and N-butyl thiophosphoric triamide (N-NBPT), the nitrification inhibitor is composed of dicyandiamide (DCD) and 3,4-dimethyl-phenyl-piperazinium (DMPP), and the weight ratio of the urease inhibitor to the nitrification inhibitor is (0.8-1.5):(1.2-2.5). The long-lasting potassium sulphate type compound fertilizer special for sugarcanes disclosed by the invention has the advantages of being reasonable in formula, proper in price, long in fertilizer effect period and high in fertilizer utilization rate and is capable of reducing application frequency and obviously prompting growth and development of sugarcanes and sugar accumulation; the yield of sugarcanes is increased by 12.8%; the sucrose content is increased by 5.2%; the long-lasting potassium sulphate type compound fertilizer special for sugarcanes disclosed by the invention is worthy of popularization and application.
