The invention belongs to the technical field of planting, and discloses a sweetened and high-yield cultivation method for citruses. The method comprises the following steps: (1) performing land treatment: deeply ploughing a land, and applying the land with organic farm manure; (2) performing transplanting: transplanting robustly growing seedlings with soil, covering the seedlings with soil, watering the seedlings, and applying a nutritional solution; (3) performing fertilizer application management: performing topdressing once in the initial stage of leaf emerging of the citrus seedlings, applying leaf fertilizer in the flowering stage, and applying a sweetened nutritional solution in a fruiting stage; (4) planting legume crops in row spaces of citrus plants in March to April every year, and after the legume crops are matured and harvested, burying straws below the plants; (5) performing trimming and pest control: after the legume crops are harvested and before the plants are sprouted, trimming the plants; after planting is performed for one week, applying liquid once, which is obtained by diluting 80% thiophanate methyl wettable powder by 800 to 1,000 times, and then applying a pest control agent once every 20 to 30 days. According to the citrus planting method, the citrus seedling survival rate can be obviously increased, the yield and the quality of the citruses can be improved, and the sweetness of the citruses is increased.

Compositions for increasing the amount of available silica, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur are described herein. The compositions contain calcium silicate (CaSiO2) and magnesium sulfite (MgSO3). Calcium silicate may be in the form of calcium silicate slag. Magnesium sulfite may be a by-product obtained from power plants. In one embodiment, the composition is in granular form and contains 65-90% (wt) calcium silicate slag, 20-30% (wt) magnesium sulfite, 0-5% (wt) expandible clay, and 2-10% (wt) residual moisture (H2O). In a preferred embodiment, the granules contain 31% (wt) silica, 22% (wt) calcium, 3% (wt) magnesium, and 4% (wt) sulfur. In a second embodiment, the composition is non granular and contains 75-90% (wt) calcium silicate slag, 10-20% (wt) magnesium sulfite and 0-10% (wt) H2O. The compositions may be applied to golf courses or residential or commercial lawns to improve the growth of grasses and their resistance to disease and insects. Alternatively, the compositions may be applied for use in agriculture for monocots, including grasses, sugarcane, cucumbers, rice, oats, corn, wheat, and barley, and dicots, such as citrus plants, cucumbers and tomatoes.
