136 results about "Eyewash" patented technology

Eyewash is a fluid, commonly salineus used to physically wash the eyes in the case that they may be contaminated by foreign materials or substances. Eyewashes may be beneficial to those with sensitive eyes and can provide relief to the painful side effects of sensitivity. However, prolonged usage of such products will cause mild side effects, such as the reddening of the eye and/or pupil and cause itchiness. If such symptoms occur, it is best to see one's family doctor.

Emergency eyewash apparatus

An eyewash apparatus is disclosed that can be utilized on either side of an associated bowl or sink. Piping extending from spray heads to a housing overlaying a valve can be rotated into position over the sink or bowl. Rotation of the piping initiates or shuts off water flow to eyewash outlets at one end of the piping. The amount of rotation is limited by interaction of a pin traveling in an arcuate slot formed in that part of the apparatus secured to a surface adjacent the sink or bowl. The apparatus can be used on opposite sides of the sink or bowl without a structural change to any components of the apparatus.

Emergency shower and eyewash station with temperature control

An emergency water release device comprises heating elements adapted to heat water, a shower and an eyewash, a valve and a controller which sends a first signal to turn off at least one of the plurality of heating elements when a temperature of the water exceeds a predetermined limit, and when a flow rate of the water is reduced to a reduced flow rate, the valve opens so that water is dispersed away from both the shower and the eyewash in an amount equal to the difference between the flow rate and the reduced flow rate. The heating elements form a first set electrically connected in series which provides heat for water to be dispensed by the shower, a second set electrically connected in series which provides heat for water to be dispensed by the eyewash. The first and second set of heating elements can be connected in parallel. The controller may also be configured to send a signal to another valve to open so that unheated water is mixed with heated water.

Janitorial service sink eyewash

An emergency washing unit flexibly connected to a service sink faucet, wherein water flow through the unit can be initiated by simply grabbing the unit and squeezing the handle operator on the unit. The unit can be directed anywhere onto the person using it because of its connection to a water supply via a flexible hose. The unit may be mounted on brackets that hold it in a position closer to the user. A vacuum breaker can be used to prevent possible contamination caused by unwanted flow back of used water through the washing unit into the faucet.

Thermostatic mixing valve

A thermostatic mixing valve including a cold water bypass passageway controlled by a pressure-operated check valve that opens upon a failure of a hot water supply to the valve. The valve is particularly for use with safety devices, such as eyewash and drench shower stations, and allows the continued delivery of cold water upon a failure of a hot water supply. The lack of hot water causes a cold water valve opening to be closed by a thermal motor, which retracts upon the lack of hot water, yet the bypass passageway is adapted to allow cold water to bypass the thermal motor-controlled cold water valve opening and be directed to the outlet of the valve.
