Seismic base isolation, also known as base isolation or base isolation system, is one of the most popular means of protecting a structure against earthquake forces. It is a collection of structural elements which should substantially decouple a superstructure from its substructure resting on a shaking ground thus protecting a building or non-building structure's integrity.

Various methods are described where the semiconductor die and the lead frame (or the BGA or LGA substrate) are spaced apart to reduce stress. In one scenario, an air gap is formed between the semiconductor die and the lead frame by depositing a perimeter (made, for example, using polymer) either on the semiconductor die or the lead frame. In another scenario, an anisotropic conducting film (ACF) is formed with an air gap between the semiconductor die and the lead frame (or the BGA or LGA substrate). The invention provides a composite type three-way intelligent seismic isolation support suitable for bases of house buildings, bridges, important cultural relics and other different seismic isolation systems. A prismatic steel top plate is connected on the upper portions of six pieces of shape memory alloys, and a damping-material-sprayed prismatic steel bottom plate is connected on the lower portions of the six pieces of shape memory alloys; and meanwhile six dish-shaped springs on the prismatic steel bottom plate and intelligent friction discs jointly support the prismatic steel top plate. When the support bears the horizontal earthquake action, the upper steel plate and the lower steel plate conduct horizontal relative movement, the shape memory alloys supply large restoring force and drive the friction discs to change bolt anchoring force through electro-deformation of a piezoelectric actuator, and the function of intelligent adjusting of horizontal friction energy consumption is played; and when the support bears the vertical earthquake action, the dish-shaped springs bear load and deform to store certain potential energy so as to consume vertical seismic force. According to the composite type three-way intelligent seismic isolation support, the structural three-way seismic isolation problem can be solved effectively, and guarantee is provided for the safety of building structures and the protection of the important cultural relics.

Method for controlling torsion of base isolation structure

The invention provides a method for controlling torsion of a base isolation structure. A displacement ratio, a ratio of a torsion component to a translational motion component and a torsion shearing force ratio are taken as torsional effect indexes, torsional effect index values are acquired and adjusted to accord with limit values, and accordingly, torsion of the base isolation structure of a complicated and irregular system is controlled. The method specifically comprises steps as follows: a three-dimensional finite element model of an irregular to-be-isolated system is established, isolation support parameters are determined in combination of a limiting value of the offset distance between the center of rigidity and the center of mass of an isolation layer, an isolation structure model is established, the torsional effect index values are extracted, whether the torsional effect index values meet the requirements of limit values is judged, a corresponding technical route is adopted according to the ultralimit condition, and finally, the torsional effect index values can all meet the requirements. According to the method, as for the complicated and irregular isolation structure, an effective torsion effect index and a specific implementation method are provided quantitatively, quantitative standards and specific operation standards are provided for an isolation technology for controlling torsion of the structure, and larger application and promotion values are provided.
