The invention provides a suite of instruments, implants and associated techniques for performing procedures to correct deformities of the knee of a patient. In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, implants, a kit and associated methods are provided for correcting varus and valgus deformities of the knee.

A fiber optic splice organizer stores optical fiber splices and sufficient slack to permit the fibers to be readily separated, such as for reorganization or to remake a splice. Multiple hinges connect a plurality of fiber trays side by side to provide pivotable connections between trays. A flat orientation of the trays enables splicing and coiling of fibers as they are loaded into a tray. The trays then pivot into a fiber storage position. Special features of the hinges provide support for fibers and splices as they are loaded into the trays. The hinges protect the fibers as the trays are pivoted as well as when the trays are in their folded position for storage without requiring buffer tubes. Multiple architectures for the organization of fibers are enabled without violating minimal bend radii, and while providing for ease of separation of individual fibers or groups of fibers.

There is disclosed an improved stand-off for large vacuum compression storage bags made from a thermoplastic material such as polyethylene or other thermoplastic material and preferably made by extrusion. The stand-off includes a base having an aperture therein for alignment with the valve of the bag. The base further includes a plurality of ribs. The stand-off may include a variety of geometries provided that it is of sufficient length and width to cover the valve area. It may extend from one side of the bag to the other side of the bag or include variations thereof in size.

A flexible intramedullary nail is disclosed that is manufactured from a biocompatible rigid material and having a substantially cylindrical hollow body, a leading segment with an entry hole at a distal end and at least one securing means and a trailing segment having a trailing edge and an attachment mechanism. The body has at least one flexible center section, each having at least one slot to provide flexibility. In one embodiment the at least one slot follows a sinuous, serpentine path to form a plurality of interlocking teeth that can follow a helical or a concentric path. Each of the slots has a proximal end and a distal end, with the proximal end being spaced from the trailing segment and the distal end being spaced from the leading segment. When multiple slots are incorporated, the proximal end of a slot is spaced from a distal end of a subsequent slot. The first of the at least one flexible center section and a second of the at least one flexible center section can be separated by a non-slotted section. The nail can be used with a flexible insertion shaft or a locking shaft.

A firearms magazine has compound tapered side walls and feed lips having substantially parallel end portions for maintaining contact with the cartridge as it is loaded. Removable inserts reduce the interior length and width to hold cartridges of different sizes. The insert has a channel along its height to protect the cartridge noses, and is held by a reinforcing member. A movable cartridge follower feeds the cartridges out of the magazine and has projections slideable in channels of the insert.

A snowboard locking system including two longitudinal members that are transversely aligned and partially overlapping from opposite sides of the middle section of a snowboard. Each elongated member includes a U-shaped portion designed to capture the outer edge of the snowboard when the elongated member is transversely aligned thereover. Formed on the end of each elongated member opposite the U-shaped portion is a wide body portion with a plurality of holes formed thereon. During installation on a snowboard, the elongated members are transversely aligned on opposite sides of the snowboard so that the U-shaped portions capture the opposite outer edges of the snowboard and the body portions overlap. A plurality of holes formed on the body portion of each elongated member may be aligned and registered. A lock extending through the aligned holes of the two elongated members is then used to hold them in a transversely aligned position on the snowboard. An optional cable is also provided that permanently attaches to the distal ends of each elongated member. During use, the cable may be looped around a fixed, stationary object to attach the snowboard to the object.

An organic light emitting display device, comprises a pixel unit including a plurality of pixels, each of the pixels including an organic light emitting diode having a first electrode, a second electrode, and an organic light emitting layer; a built-in-circuit comprising a driving circuit configured to drive the pixels; and a bus unit comprising bus lines configured to deliver pixel power to the pixels. The pixel unit, the built-in-circuit, and the bus unit are sequentially disposed from a central region of a display panel to an outer side of the display panel. The second electrode of the organic light emitting diode and one of the bus lines are electrically connected to each other through one of conductive patterns formed on at least a part of the built-in-circuit and at least a part of the bus unit.

A flexible fastening device having multiple segments, one or more of which are flexible and one or more segments that also include threads. The flexibility is created through the use of at least one helical slot formed generally in the center segment of the element. Additional flexible segments also have at least one helical slot in either the same helical rotation and pattern or in an opposite rotation and/or different pattern. An elastomeric material can fill the hollow body, extend into the slots and/or encompass the exterior. The flexible fastening device can have a hollow body, including leading and trailing edge, or can have a partially hollow body.

A crop harvesting header with a cutter bar and a draper assembly has a draper canvas with an edge portion across a front edge to cooperate with a rearwardly projecting element of the cutter bar extending over the upper run of the draper canvas to engage the upper surface of the edge portion to form a seal to inhibit entry of dirt or crop between the cutter bar and the draper canvas. The edge portion of the canvas is thicker and is canted upwardly at an angle of the order of 10 to 20 degrees. An impeller exhaust ridge vent is provided for covering a ridge slot formed along the ridge of a roof. The ridge vent has an elongated laterally flexible center panel with edge portions along which vents are formed. Standoffs can depend from the bottom of the center panel for supporting the center panel a predetermined distance above the roof deck so that attic air can vent through the ridge slot, beneath the center panel, and exit through the vents. A base panel can be provided to cover the roof deck and form a smooth substantially sealed air duct for passage of the air. Upstanding wind baffles are disposed outboard of and spaced from the vents. Tourniquet devices and associated methods of use and manufacture are disclosed herein. Tourniquet devices configured in accordance with several embodiments of the disclosure can include, for example, a strap having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, a buckle assembly connected to the proximal end portion, and a pulley assembly movably coupled to the strap. Tourniquet devices configured in accordance with the technology can be easily applied because the pulley assemblies can reduce the force a user must exert on the tourniquet devices to constrict or occlude blood flow. Additionally, tourniquet devices disclosed herein can also serve as functional, wearable items (e.g., a belt, integrated into clothing) such that the tourniquet devices are conveniently stored and readily accessible in emergencies.

A device for safely retaining an object such as a child's bottle or other object consisting of interrelated straps of webbing or other materials employing tensionally locked slidably compression buckles. One or all of the straps are adjustable for length. The attachment and retention straps are placed circumferentially around the objects to be attached. The strap engaging the bottle or other component is best compressively engaged and employs buckles having a tensional release and dexterity requirement lacking in young children.
