Wireless Microactuator Motor Assembly for Use in a Hard Disk Drive Suspension, and Mechanical and Electrical Connections Thereto

A microactuator assembly for a hard disk drive head suspension has an expandable base of stainless steel sheet material defining a negative lead affixed to the negative electrode on the bottom surface of a piezoelectric element, and a piece of stainless steel sheet material defining a positive lead attached to the positive electrode on the top surface of the piezoelectric element. The leads may be affixed directly to the piezoelectric element via conductive adhesive. The microactuator assembly can be assembled separately, and then laser welded into place on a suspension. A bond pad made of stainless steel sheet material extends from the flexible circuit, is electrically connected to the microactuator driving voltage conductor within the flexible circuit through a via, and is electrically isolated from the suspension substrate by an insulating film. The microactuator unit positive lead is mechanically and electrically connected to the bond pad via laser welding.

High temperature composite pipe wrapping system

InactiveUS6276401B1Improve stress resistanceMinimize dimensional changeLayered productsLaminationUnderlaySolvent
A method and apparatus for providing metal or non-metal vessels, including straight and curved pipes and various pipe connections, such as T's, elbows, swages, etc., and pressure containing vessels such as tanks, with an external composite lining of a webbing of biaxial or triaxial weave preferably composed of fiberglass which is pre-impregnated with a high temperature heat curable polymer composition capable of being heat cured at a temperature range of from about 275° F. to about 375° F. The vessel is prepared for bonding by abrasive cleaning and by solvent cleaning. Metal imperfections are then filled with an epoxy. A small amount a quick setting epoxy is employed to attach one end of the web to the external surface of the vessel in oriented position for wrapping of the web in intimate surface-to-surface contact with the vessel. During wrapping only enough tension is applied to the pre-impregnated webbing to eliminate any wrinkles. The number of layers of the impregnated webbing will be determined by the safe pressure containing capability of the pipe or vessel and its composite lining. An external heating element is then placed about the wrapping of pre-impregnated webbing material so as to be in substantially intimate relation therewith and is energized to apply sufficient heat for a sufficient period of time to completely cure the epoxy surface filler and to cure the polymer resin components of the pre-impregnated woven wrappings of webbing.

Multi-chambered container fluid selection valve

A selection valve (10) for use with a multi-chambered fluid container having outlet openings in communication with the fluid container chambers. The selection valve (10) utilizes an outer housing (12) having a bore (14) for receiving a fluid from the multi-chambered container. An upper gasket (20) engages an inner surface (16) of the outer housing (12) and an inner housing (28) having intake ports (34) that interface with the upper gasket, permitting communication between the outer housing (12) and the fluid container. A spring detent (46) is disposed upon the inner housing with protruding pins (48) that ride upon a rotating detent ring (50). When the housing (12) and the detent ring (50) rotate, the pins (48) enter radial grooves (54) and (55) causing the housing to remain at a desired location. A closure assembly is snapped onto the inner housing to permit a fluid path to be formed between a specific compartment in the container and the bore (14) in the outer housing.

Elongated board vertical holding device

A device and method are provided for displaying, storing and fixturing snowboards and glider type boards vertically either on the wall or supported from a floor stand. The device allows the quick and easy loading of a board and manipulating or adjusting the board's position. The device has multiple points or surfaces of contact, located on both sides of an elongated board placed in the device, which said points or surfaces may be cushioned, compliant and frictional so as to prevent board damage and to aid in supporting the edges of the board. The contact points provide frictional forces and horizontal vector forces which are the result of the downward gravitational vector force and slight downward movement developed by the weight of the board itself as it is transferred through the multiple contact surfaces. The preferred device employs two arms pivotally connected with the free end of the first arm rotatably secured at the top of the device and the free end of the second arm rotatably secured at the bottom of the device but movable upwards and downwards to adjust the width of the opening between support points.

The terminal portions of the first planar base portion and second pair of sidewalls of the first segment define a first opening at the open end of the first segment. The open end of the first segment has a predetermined exterior dimension. The elongated food container also includes a second segment having a second base portion for contacting a substantially flat support surface. The second base portion has a length that is at least about 1.15 times longer than the base is wide and a second pair of sidewalls extending upwardly from the second planar base portion. A second end wall joins the second pair of walls of the second segment to the second end wall at the closed end of the second segment of the elongated container. By pushing or pulling apart the first and second segments when telescopically mated, the user can lengthen or shorten the elongated food container to match the length of the food product contained therein as it is consumed over time.
