Method and system to improve handover between mobile video networks and cells

ActiveUS20050233705A1Improved receiver operationSimplified network signal searchEnergy efficient ICTBroadcast with distributionDigital videoIntegrated receiver/decoder
A digital video broadcast network comprises a content provider and several transmitters. Each transmitter may transmit more than one signal, different signals having different frequencies, multiplexes and the like and relating to different network types. An integrated receiver/decoder (IRD) is mobile in the area around the transmitters. As well as transmitting service information as part of a network information table on a data layer, the transmitters provide in their output signals transmitter parameter information as TPS data on a physical layer. This TPS information includes information identifying whether there are other networks available, and preferably the number of other networks. Transmission parameters relating to the other networks are included in an other_network_descriptor, forming part of an NIT actual or a BAT, or alternatively in an NIT_other. This information is used by the IRD in signal scan. Using the described broadcast signals, signal scan can be made more efficient, resulting in reduced power consumption and scanning time. IRDs may also receive free field three dimensional models of signal levels created for a group of cells. The models may be in the form of bitmaps and used during handover procedures.

Method, medium, and system synthesizing a stereo signal

A method, medium, and system generating a 3-dimensional (3D) stereo signal in a decoder by using a surround data stream. According to such a method, medium, and system, a head related transfer function (HRTF) is applied in a quadrature mirror filter (QMF) domain, thereby generating a 3D stereo signal by using a surround data stream.

System and method for human assisted secure information exchange

InactiveUS20080195866A1Easy to understand and useMinimal user interface requirementUser identity/authority verificationNetwork topologiesSecurity informationSystem requirements
A system that assures a user that two specific devices have exchanged information correctly over an insecure communication channel. In a typical application, the channel would be a wireless network connection and the information would consist of the public keys of the two devices. The exchanged public keys would subsequently be used to secure any further communication between the two devices. The system requires that both devices have an output modality interpretable by a human. One of the devices must have an input modality that can be operated by the user. The input and output modalities can be very simple e.g., they can consist of a button and LEDs. The users would press the button multiple times. On each press, the LEDs on both devices display a color and the user compares the colors and that they are synchronous. A noticeable delay or color difference signifies a security threat.

Power supply apparatus and power line communication apparatus

A power supply apparatus has a coupled transformer that inputs and outputs a communication signal and a capacitor that has high impedance to a commercial power supply frequency and low impedance to a communication signal frequency. The capacitor is connected between a primary winding of the coupled transformer and a power reception terminal. To both ends of the capacitor, a switching regulator is connected via a noise reduction circuit. To a secondary winding of the coupled transformer, a modem of a power line communication apparatus is connected. In the configuration, the coupled transformer and the switching regulator are thus connected in series.

Host equipment data transmission extension method based on AXI bus

The invention discloses a host equipment data transmission extension method based on an AXI bus. The host equipment data transmission extension method is characterized in that a protocol conversion module is added between an AXI bus and an FIFO interface bus of host equipment; the protocol conversion module comprises an MST_FIFO module and an MST_IF module; the MST_IF module receives a read-writeaddress, a read-write length and a control command from the AXI interface; the MST_FIFO comprises five independent FIFOs which respectively correspond to five independent channels of a write command,a write data, a write response, a read command and a read data of an AXI bus; and the five independent FIFOs receive or send the five independent channels to host equipment. According to the host equipment data transmission extension method, the protocol conversion of the AXI signal and the FIFO signal is realized through the protocol conversion module, so that the self-research module does not need to accord with the AXI protocol any more, and the design flow of the self-research module is simplified, and the independence of each channel of the AXI protocol and the characteristics of high performance, and high bandwidth and low delay of the protocol are maintained.
