Real-time collaboration and communication in a peer-to-peer networking infrastructure

Methods that enable real-time communication and collaboration in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network are provided. More specifically, methods for the creation and access of an underlying graph and / or group structure to pass collaboration / real-time communication data and other functions such as the retrieval of node / member and graph / group information, the addition, modification, deletion and management of records (data), the direct communication between graph / group nodes / members, the registering for event notifications, and other functions are used to pass real-time communication / collaboration data between nodes in a graph or members of a group.

Intravascular obstruction removing wire and medical instrument

An intravascular obstruction removing wire includes an elongate wire body, at least two non-branched wire portions having distal ends and proximal ends which are connected to a distal end of the wire main body, and a plurality of filament portions extending across the wire portions. The non-branched wire portions and the filament portions form a trapping portion. The trapping portion is deformable from a large-diameter state in which the non-branched portions branch to the distal end of the wire body forward in different directions and the filament portions are separated from each other, so that a space surrounded by the non-branched wire portions and the filament portions is formed to trap therein an obstruction in a blood vessel, to a small-diameter state in which the non-branched wire portions are positioned so that a distance between the wire portions is smaller than that of the wire portions in the large-diameter state.

Intelligent directional fire alarm system

An intelligent directional fire alarm system is disclosed. The intelligent directional fire alarm system identifies a threat such as a fire, and the location within a building relative to the known exits for building occupants, and indicates the closest exits in each area of a building relative to the location of an identified threat, and the path towards the exit for evacuees throughout a given building, relative to the detected fire location(s)

Optical fiber connector with a base end threaded ferrule

The present invention provides an optical fiber connector for making high-precision optical connections between optical fibers. During assembly, a ferrule is rotationally adjusted around its axis 360° without stepping. The assembly, including this rotational adjustment, can be performed easily and reliably. An optical fiber connector 1 comprises: a housing 2 that can be mounted on and removed from an adapter A; a ferrule 3 through which a cladding portion F1 at the end of an optical fiber F is inserted is rotatably housed in the housing 2 so that it can move along the axial direction; a compression coil spring 4 biasing the ferrule 3 in the axial end direction; and a rotation-restricting slide mechanism 5 that restricts rotation of the ferrule 3 relative to the housing 2 at the base-end side of the housing 3 and that allows the ferrule 3 to slide in the axial direction.

Unit circuit, electro-optical device, and electronic apparatus

A unit circuit includes an electro-optical element, a first capacitive element, a second capacitive element, a third capacitive element, a drive transistor, a first switching element, an initialization unit, and a compensation unit. The electro-optical element emits an amount of light in accordance with a magnitude of a drive current. The first capacitive element includes a first electrode and a second electrode, the first electrode is electrically connected to a first node, and the second electrode is capable of receiving a fixed potential. The second capacitive element includes a third electrode and a fourth electrode, the third electrode is electrically connected to a second node, and the fourth electrode is capable of receiving a fixed potential. The third capacitive element includes a fifth electrode and a sixth electrode, the fifth electrode is electrically connected to the first node, and the sixth electrode is electrically connected to the second node. The drive transistor includes a gate, a source, and a drain and outputs the drive current in a driving period. The gate thereof is electrically connected to the second node. In a data writing period, the first switching element is in an on state and supplies to the first node a data potential supplied via a data line. The initialization unit causes the third capacitive element to discharge charges stored therein in an initialization period. The compensation unit electrically connects the source and the drain of the drive transistor together in a compensation period.

Storage apparatus, control method, and control device

Firmware FW1 and FW2 is separately stored in a non-volatile memory, in which a boot code for start-up and a restoration code are stored, and a first magnetic disk. A copy of the firmware FW1 stored in the non-volatile memory is stored in the first magnetic disk, and a copy of the entire firmware FW1 and FW2 stored in the first disk medium is stored in the second magnetic disk. When an error occurs during firmware update, upon next power-on, whether the volatile memory, the first magnetic disk, and the second magnetic disk are normal or abnormal is determined, and valid firmware is read and allocated to the volatile memory so as to perform start-up by a start-up mode corresponding to the determination contents.

Retort cup

A retort cup including a tubular barrel portion formed of a barrel portion forming blank having a paper layer and thermoplastic resin layers provided on both surfaces of the paper layer. A bottom portion seals one of the openings of the barrel portion and has a downwardly bent peripheral edge portion. The barrel portion has an attached barrel overlap portion where both end edges of the barrel portion forming blank are overlapped with each other and sealed, a lower fold-back portion is formed at a lower end of the barrel portion and an upper fold-back portion is formed by folding back the ends of the fold-back barrel portion forming blank inwardly. The lower end of the barrel portion, the upper fold-back portion, and the peripheral edge portion of the bottom portion are closely sealed together. The peripheral edge portion is inserted into the lower fold-back portion.

Method of removing diamond coating and method of manufacturing diamond-coated body

A method of removing a diamond coating from a substrate of a diamond-coated body which includes the substrate coated with the diamond coating. The method includes a step of heating the diamond-coated body at a predetermined temperature in a reactor at a predetermined reduced pressure, while introducing an oxygen gas into the reactor at a predetermined flow rate, for burning the diamond coating to thereby remove the diamond coating from the substrate.
