A method for generating control data for an eye-surgical treatment device, which separates tissue layers in the eye cornea by application of a laser device, wherein a contact glass having a contact surface deforms the cornea to conform to the shape of the contact surface during the operation of the laser device. The contact surface is first placed on a cornea apex at a contact surface apex and is then pressed against the same for deforming the cornea. The method includes: generating the control data of the laser device such that the data specifies coordinates of target points located in the cornea for the laser device, and upon generation of the target point coordinates the deformation of the cornea which is present during the operation of the laser device as a result of the contact glass is taken into consideration. The invention provides that the several steps are carried out in consideration of the deformation in order to determine a displacement of a point P in the undeformed cornea caused by the deformation.

Method and Apparatus for Secure Network Access and Group Membership in a Digital Chaos Cooperative Network

The present invention teaches a system and method for secure network access and group membership in a cooperative network of digital chaos transmissions. The invention involves sensing generated digital chaos sequences as spreading sequences at a transmit side and determining the availability of open channels at a receive side. Further, a broadcast “request to join” frame from a node on an open channel is transmitted to network manager or coordinator. A network manager or coordinator sends an association / authentication packet, comprised of the reserved digital chaos associated to the unique device id, in response to the “request to join” frame from a node with a valid identification.

Wireless sensor networks

In a wireless sensor network having a plurality of mobile sensor nodes (62, 63, 64, 65), a sink (70) is provided and re-positioned as required by assigning the role of sink to one of the mobile sensors at a time. Re-positioning involves finding candidate sinks in the vicinity of a current sink, a temporary sink or a central candidate in the network; judging the suitability of each candidate, for example by estimating the data throughput likely to be achieved if each candidate is selected as the new sink; and transferring the role of sink to the best candidate found. The temporary sink or central candidate may be selected with the aid of a positioning system (80) of the network. Suitability of a candidate sink may take into account a desired transmission rate of each sensor node in the vicinity of a candidate, this desired rate being found from a 3-D look-up table of each sensor.
